I am already browsing for curriculums for next year which will be my dd's official start of homeschooling in K. The program I am looking at uses vertical phonics (teaches all of the sounds a letter can make at the same time...ie.."a" can make 3 different sounds) vs the standard phonics that other programs use. Does anyone have any experience with vertical phonics? My dd has a language processing disorder so lang. arts are very hard for her. I'm not sure if it would be better for her to learn that letters make different sounds or if a more standard approach would be better. Any advice? Thanks so much!
We are trying a vertical approach because my kids were really struggling with Spelling. I do not have experience with it yet... but we are using All About Spelling if you care to take a look at it.
