So DH suprised me yesterday when he came home from work late. I asked him if he got stuck at work and he said no...I passed a store that was closing and so I stopped in and got a great deal on a new washer/dryer for you. I was thrilled because I haven't had a dryer in over 2 years and our washer was on it's last leg. So I asked him about it and well....he bought a Front Loader Machine. It's the whirlpool duet sport pair. Now I'm worried can I use my homemade detergent in the front loader? And what about my cloth diapers will I be able to wash them in the FL machine or will I have to take them to the laundromat? Help me here ladies, I've never had a front loader machine...I always just buy the cheapo top loaders, but DH did get a GREAT deal on these...only $500.00 for the pair! Around here they retail new for about 800-900 EACH! I'm excited for them to come today so I can actually see them!

Congrats! That is very exciting! Yes, you can use the homemade deteregant. That is all I use in mine. I use the liquid version. My clothes come out soooo clean. What a great gift from your dh. :)

Yes he's wonderful, I'm very thankful for him. He said he was tired of seeing me frantically trying to get laundry done first thing in the am so it had time to dry during the day. Now I have a dryer and can do laundry whenever I want AND they work..my old washer was falling apart. It's a great birthday present!

I've never had a front-loader either, so I can't help with the questions, but I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS! That's a great deal, and I'm sure you'll get used to it and enjoy it immensely! You deserve to have a good washer and dryer after all the hard work!

We finally got it delivered. They brought us one set and the washer didn't work it sounded like there were marbles in it and the drum didn't spin...so they went back and got us another pair and they worked. I like it so far....it uses hardly any water and very little power as well. The dryer uses more power, but that's ok I'm just glad to finally have one! I am definately very happy with it, and dh is so happy with himself for coming up with a birthday present that won't end up on a shelf somewhere unused! So this will make my life much easier! I can do laundry at night now which is very good.

My sister uses a front loader with the homemade laundry soap (liquid one) and she cloth diapers. No problems. She does use Fels Naptha in her laundry soap versus some other folks use to keep the suds down. Congrats!

Thanks I'm very happy with them and I ran two loads last night to see how it worked and nothing bad happened with the soap so we'll keep going. The pair is under warranty for a year so if anything happens we can get them fixed.

What a nice surprise. So glad everything is working. You'll probably do laundry everyday for the next month, just because you can.:)
