What activities or type of play do your children enjoy? I'm just curious what other kids like to do with their spare time. What do your kids do/play when they are together with friends?

My son (7 y.o.) likes to make up his own songs, record them on the computer, transfer the sound files to iTunes and burn his own cds. He also likes to make movies on the computer and take silly pictures of himself. Ds loves listening to all different types of music. He enjoys acting and dancing too. Ds does play outside on the swing set and rides his Razor scooter. He likes to play with the neighbor kids sometimes. My son plays pretend/imaginary play with his sister (4 y.o.) and some of the neighborhood girls. Ds does NOT like to ride his bike (he doesn't quite have the hang of it yet), play sports nor play pretend gun fights with the neighbor boys.

My 4 y.o. dd enjoys playing with her brother and all of the neighbor kids. She loves riding her bike, her princess scooter and running everywhere. She also enjoys going out on the swing set. Dd seems to be interested in sports more than her brother is. She loves gardening and playing in the dirt too. Dd also likes to dress up as a princess and other such things and play pretend with her brother.

My daughter seems to be outgoing, so she plays with friends fairly easily. My daughter would be out with friends all day, if I let her. I've noticed lately that my son will play with the neighbor kids for a while, but will need to take a break from friends to have alone time. I understand my son's need to take breaks from friends. I guess, I just get worried sometimes that he's not connecting with anyone. I worry too much, because he is currently outside in the sprinkler with his sister and the neighbor boys...

When Ems is alone, she likes to play in her doll house. The funny thing is, it isn't the pretty doll house she received for Christmas a few years ago. It is a doll house she made out of boxes!LOL She also enjoys riding her scooter, swinging from a swing her dad hung in the tree, drawing, gardening, playing in the mud, doing plastic canvas, other crafts, playing with the dogs, her dad, her friends, and reading. There are so many activities she enjoys doing. Sometimes she likes to sit, watch a movie and eat popcorn.

Amanda (6) likes to draw and color and sing when she is alone. When she is with her friends she loves to play hide and seek, and anything at the pool.

Katie (10) likes to play Littlest Pet Shop with her sister and friends. She also plays Nintendo games with her friends.

They both love to swim, ride bikes and scooters.

My kids love digging holes and playing in the "mud". (every time the decorative fountian goes empty we know they took the water from there).

They love the Wii and previously the PS2.

right now they are playing with birthday balloons blown up for Donald's party.

Ofcorse TV is a family relax time too.

Scooters too sometimes, but there just isn't much space to do that.

Jeannie doesn't like her bike, either. It still has training wheels, but she isn't interested in giving them up.

    Hmmm...

Lets see...all three of them LOVE reading. So usually all the books are all over the floor and they're looking at them.

Computer games - like Webkinz or Starfall, etc...but I try to limit that to no more than an hour a day (1/2 hour broken up in first half of day and after dinner).

They like to play their own made up games - like Spy's, detectives, hero, restaurant, store, library, etc. They set up elaborate displays and use their costumes and stuff to really play it up.

My eldest loves drawing, painting, coloring, clay, sculpture, etc.

My son loves Rescue hero action figures (just got a boat load of them at a yardsale for $5 a few weeks ago - they are sitll his favorite). K'nex, legos and any kind of buiding or engineering toy.

My youngest is into horses and has a Dora horse set that she plays iwth a lot. A doll house, and dress up. And baby dolls.

    :)

It is always a fantasy around here.

My boys live to be outside...they are usually ramping their bikes or they are building this huge motocross track with their shovels for their push toys. They seriously spend all day working on this track and then playing on it. Currently they are digging this humongous hole and said they are going to put a baby swimming pool in it then fill it with water.
All together with my daughter they go back behind the house and they've been building a bridge over the ditch (which they all call the creek). They pack a lunch and stay back there for hours.
My dd is turning 13 and is into every sport. We are going every day this week with Soccer, Basketball and then Volleyball starts next Monday. The boys will leave on Thursday for Motocross in New York.
DD leaves on Wednesday for 4-H camp.
Yes, I get lots of alone time lately and I'm loving it!!
I thought the toddler years would last forever. It's nice not to be chasing babies anymore.

Zach (10) loves anything computer, camera or video-game related. His current favorite thing to do is to get on the phone with a friend and play together on a lego-type site called Roblox. He likes making funny videos and playing his guitar. He loves driving his go-cart, bike riding, swimming, Nerf gun and water gun fights with friends. He loves talking on the phone with friends...that is one thing he's starting to do too much of!

Eli (6) is mostly into Lego and Bionicles right now. He loves playing Lego Star Wars on the Xbox 360. He still loves his Hot Wheels and dressing up/acting out in old costumes. He also loves riding his bike (no training wheels for two years now!) and his scooter. He also loves swimming and anything water related or messy.

Both boys also enjoy drawing and painting, and watching TV.

Grace (age 5) loves to be outside. She enjoys riding her bike, scooter and tricycle and rollerblading. She loves to dig in the dirt and play in the sprinkler. Anything to be outside - she loves to go camping and hiking and swimming. She is wiggly and doesn't like to do things that require her to sit still. When she has to be inside she likes to play with her Barbies and her farm set. She also really likes to build forts - all over the house too. She is constantly constructing something usually right in the middle of where I don't want her at the moment. She also takes tap and ballet and is always listening to her cd player.

Samantha (age 12 in two weeks) is my more relaxed kid. She likes to draw and read and do crafts. She also loves to be outdoors - camping, hiking, swimming, bike riding, rollerblading and playing with friends. She lives to dance. Loves it! She dances twice a week and she and her friends like to make up dances and cheers to show us. Unlike her sister she doesn't mind sitting still and will stay at her desk all afternoon writing and drawing.
