I had asked about a spelling curric. recently and then came across an awesome website. I decided that instead of buying a new spelling curriculum (especially since spelling is included with the LA that we're going to be using) that we'll focus on words from this website and work on it during the summer. I'm thinking we'll use a notebook to do "spelling tests" which will really just be a way to see what they already know. We'll go through a big list (because I'm starting with 1st grade words) and then whatever they miss, we'll focus on learning those for that week, then re-test on Friday. Then move on to the grade 2 words the next week until I feel like we're up to par and where I want them to be. Just thought I'd share. I know it's similar to just putting together your own list which a lot of people do. But this summer we're focusing on things we really need to improve like our math mult/div tables, spelling, writing and reading (even though they're greatly improved, I'd like to continue with reading over the summer). Here's the website: http://www.superteacherworksheets.com/spelling-levela.html
Thats great . This site looks like a life saver for me, because I can use this, instead of always having to come up with my own wordlists for spelling/review day.... I just realized, TODAY is a spelling review day!
