What are you having for supper tonight? Share here! I'm thinkin' about making tacos tonight. That's always a hit with the kids especially.
Holy cow! I just asked DH what he wanted for dinner..... and he said Tacos/nachos. spanish rice and refried beans. Steak and steak fries and salad for Monday (and probably home made ice cream or smores--- I've got an awsome smores maker------ where you roast the marshmallows right over a little pot with a sterno can under it. It was one of the most thoughtful family gifts we've ever gotten. As far as sunday I don't know maybe hamburgers.
Wow, Amy you need to just open a diner. Everytime you share what you are having for dinner it makes me want to hop over to Arizona! We are having spagetti tonight...kid's choice. Well...2 our of 3 want it. lol.
I cheated and did a frozen lasagna because I had leftover baked chicken and smoked turkey wings left from last night and didn't know how many would be here for supper tonight. One thing nice with the lasagna is that it heats back up nicely.
Well, first time ever---All three of our kids are at a friends house for the whole weekend! It's the old pastor of our church. They have 3 kids: 2 boys then a girl---just like us. And their kids are near the ages of our kids, so they just paired off beautifully while they were here. They moved to a city a little over an hour drive away about 1 1/2 years ago. Now we take each others kids overnight sometimes, but this time they asked for them for a whole weekend! My dh and I don't know what to do without kids around! It's so very rare we get away without them! We've traveled so much lately going to visit my mom, and going here and there, that we just want to kick back at home and not have to go anywhere. DH is taking a nap right now, which he really needs... Oh brother, what a long story! All that to say that we don't even have plans for meals. We'll probably just snack tonight, then maybe go out for lunch somewhere WE like to go tomorrow. I think we'll be going to the Thai Restaurant that he and I like, and the kids don't. Perfect opportunity for that!
Woo hoo! I hope you're having a great time, Deena! That sounds wonderful. Thanks for starting this thread up again, dozermom.. I was just thinking yesterday about how much I missed the old one. We had red beans 'n rice with sausage for dinner tonight, with mixed veggies on the side. Tomorrow is going to be a crazy day! Our church's new building is almost completed and this is our last week in our old building! So we are having a big luncheon at church after the morning services. There is an organ recital at 2:00 (because we aren't taking our pipe organ with us, so this is to say good-bye to it), but we probably won't stay for it. We'll come home and take a nap before coming back to church at 6:00 for an evening worship service. I really should have bought something today that I could have just stuck in the crockpot for dinner tomorrow so I wouldn't have to worry about making anything in between times, but I didn't think of it, so I'll probably just thaw out some of the chicken & rice soup that's in the freezer (I always make too much!) and dump the leftover beans 'n rice in there with it.
Last night we had chicken enchiladas and tonight we had a bacon cheeseburger roll-up--both new recipes and both yummy!
Thanks! We ARE having a wonderful time! I was right---we snacked last night for supper--I had Tostitos Scoops with garlic Lime salsa mixed with sour cream---YUM! DH had popcorn. And, we DID go to lunch at the Thai restaurant today---Another YUM!
It's Sunday - Spaghetti for us!! When we were on vacation, I didn't make spaghetti. On the way home everyone was asking, "are we having spaghetti on Sunday???
We had Arby's. I tried the 'new' Reuben Sandwich - it was delicious, but quite big. I took half of it home in a 'doggy bag.' I had curly fries. The boys' regular fries were yucky, a disappointment. We only had morning service at church due to the holiday.
Oh Kris, that sounds really good, actually its on the menu for later this week, the roast is frozen so I have to plan for it. But instead of home made biscuits we have King's Hawaiian rolls they are our favorite and were on sale. Does anyone like caesar salad? I saw a recipe that sounds really good! Chicken Caesar wraps: use a compleet caesar salad kit, 4 strips of bacon cooked and crumbled fresh shredded parmasean cheese cooked diced chicken tortillas crush the croutons and set aside mix the dressing with the chicken and salad divide the salad mixture and crumbled bacon and the parmesan cheese on the tortillas and fold bottoms of tortillas up and fold the sides in. Serves 4.
I made lasagna, steamed broccoli/cauliflower/carrots mix, and garlic toast. We had cheeseburgers, baked beans and all the fixin's today for lunch.
Today we kept it very simple - sandwiches made from one of those deli chickens and fresh California strawberries. Yummm! We're going to have the leftover chicken tomorrow in quesadillas, I think.
The guys are having leftovers from yesterday for supper tonight...I'm going to Don Pablo's for a Girlz Nite Out with my cousin and a couple of other friends.
