Tonight, my parents were over. We had potatoes, steak & cob corn, all grilled and fried peppers & onions.
We are having leftovers - I made a roast last night. Tonight I will shred the rest of the roast, mix it with the gravy and dh will have that with french fries over toast. The rest of us will have that except I will make potato cakes with the leftover mashed potatoes.
Bubble Pizza. It is a recipe I got from a friend. The crust is biscuits, and then you put ground turkey mixed with pizza sauce on that, and then cheese, pepperoni, etc. Not sure why it's called bubble pizza.
Fried chicken, pinto beans (effecionatly called Papaw beans--because my dad likes them) and corn bread, and for those that NEED a green vegetable, spinach
SoonerMama, are you sure that the biscuits aren't kind of pressed/rolled out and the meat and sauce goes inside??------- Although you could share that recipe, I've seen one simular to what you are describing for bisquick.
What she gave me doesn't say anything about that (see below), but maybe I will try it that way sometime! Bubble Pizza 1 lb. ground turkey 1jar of pizza sauce 2 tubes (7.5 oz.) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits 1 bag shredded cheese (I use cheddar and monteray), it calls for mozzarella and cheddar pepperoni - optional Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Brown your meat and drain. Add pizza sauce to it. Grease your pan ( I use a 13x9). Quarter your biscuits or tear apart and place in bottom of your dish. I like to cook my biscuits for about 5 minutes to get them set. Add your meat mixture and cook for another 15-20 minutes. Take out and sprinkle with cheese and pepperoni or any other toppings you like. Bake another 5-10 minutes to let the cheese melt. Let cool for about 5 minutes.
A few days ago, I defrosted a turkey. Tonight we are having Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans and noodles. Mmmmmmmm, I can smell it now, it smells Yummy!!!!
DD and DS have decided that we are having (and they are helping to make) broccoli with cheese sauce and mashed potatoes and gravy, and maybe some kind of veggie meat. Oh dear, they're fixing supper....what shall I do? Hmmmmm....how about spend time on Homeschool Spot???!
DH is working late again tonight. *sigh* So we had club sandwiches. Real glamorous, I know. But I've got sewing stuff covering my kitchen and I really didn't feel like putting it all away just to cook a meal that the boys wouldn't really want. In other words, I was being lazy. But I think I'm entitled from time to time as long as it doesn't happen too often.
I just thought, anything is better than "HAMBURGS". Blah!!! My dh made the comment tonight that he can't wait for tomorrow's meal - I thought, Oh, no, not, HAMBURGS. He then continued to tell me he wants Turkey open face sandwiches with fries Sounds better than hamburgs.
We have those nights here. We call it "Whatever Night". Not a very glamorous name, but my kids like it! There are less dishes and clean up on whatever nights and they only have to clean up what mess they make! We actually do this once a week or so. My kids even ask for it..............hmmmm, does that mean I'm a bad cook? No, they actually like fixing their own thing!
