We have 46 of the (I assume 50) Which Way USA books. Has anyone used these? From a quick flip-through I realized that we must be missing the map...b/c it's not making sense to me. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I feel like they'll be a good resource someday...but just don't know what I'm missing - and if they're worth keeping.
Yep, I've used them and love them, and will be using them again with my younger crew, yes there should be a map for each book, I think there might be 51... I think DC has it's own book. I didn't let my oldest write in them because they were hard to find at a decent price and still crazy expensive (I think I paid $100 shipped for them all). I gave him page protectors slit down the side and dry erase markers. I also have the Top Secret Adventure sets... those ones came already written in, some day I will get out an eraser and have at it... someday..lol
We have 26 of them that I found for .50 each at a thrift store. They weren't used and had the maps! My kids love them! I found a set of maps on ebay if you are interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-31-W...599?pt=US_Childrens_Books&hash=item232abb3e3f
I paid $10 for all the books at a homeschool book sale. I just looked and they didn't come with maps. I had no clue they also had maps. We haven't used them yet, we were going to work on geography in the fall. I just looked at that link, ouch.. that auction doesn't even include all the maps. Are the maps absolutely necessary?
From what I could tell, you may be able to do a couple activities in each book without the maps, but the majority need it.
Not being at all familiar with the books, is it possible to print out "just any" map of the state? BTW, don't forget to write to the tourist bureau in each state! They will send you all kinds of info. Sometimes it's really worth while, sometimes it will be junk.
There is a lot of info on the maps. It's way easier to get your hands on the maps second hand since they aren't meant to be written on.
