    Hello ladies
Any idea what kind of a job you can so from home while you homeschool.
I'm sure we all at some point of ourlives needed a second income. I have a degree in medical technology but it's very hard working during the day if I'm homeschooling and third shift is not an option.

    any advice could be helpful

Could you do medical transription? I know very little about it, except that a friend use to be a (non-homeschooling) SAHM and did it. And I would think your background would be a plus for you. I have a HS'ing friend that is an accountant from home; her schedule is set up to where she plans on not getting as much school work done during the tax season.

One of the home schooling couples in our area (home schooling 5 children) has a business out of her home and she sells home school curriculum...

I work at the hospital during the school year (all year round actually), but I don't work the day shift as a rule because it interferes with teaching time. Because of my nursing career, I have the option of working evenings and nights so for now it works for us. There are some companies (don't know the names off the top of my head) who hire people to do medical transcription from their homes... You might look into that.

Brenda, I did that night shift (11-7) stuff for 13 years. I left it to help my son get his act together at school. I'm home with jeannie now, and I wish I'd had it this good when Kevin was small. Things could have been so different with him. Wishful thinking.....

Gotta love hind sight vision. If we only knew then what we learned from past mistakes our lives would all be different (and I for one wouldn't have suffered as long as I did).

Can't change the past, all we can do at this point is learn from it and hopefully not make the same mistakes again in the future...

    home-party plan?

I work as a "Designer" for a home party plan, and I love it because I'm my own boss, set my own hours, and can work as much or as little as I like (and the money is great!)
Maybe you could check into something like that, if you're interested.

    Randa,
Evenings aren't a problem anyway (I'm home shortly after 11 and am usually ready to collapse when I do get home so I head to bed early). When I work a night shift, my husband (who isn't able to work right now because of an injury) does some of the teaching (although I have to have the lessons all laid out and ready for him to teach) and then I take over when I wake up. That's the best thing I've found about home schooling - it has been very flexible for us because of doctor appointments.

The other thing I do (because of the possibility that I will have to work night shifts) is I prepare my lessons a week in advance on weekends. I have a general guidline of what I would likde to accomplish on each day of the week and if we don't accomplish it one day, it carries into the next day. If we do more than we had planned then we have 'free time' at the end of the week. Some of the teaching we do involves every day life things (for math because Andrew could care a less if he ever laid his hands on a text book, we go to stores and do our shopping - reality lesson on mulitplying and adding).
