the 1 year anniversary of my oldest dd's Scoliosis surgery. We had her doctors appointment a few weeks ago and everything is perfect!! He said to go on some rollercoasters , do bumper cars and go and have some fun there is no need to worry anymore about injury. He is very impressed with her recovery and said she will be in his before and after photo books too. Her ribs are back in place ( they were pushed together ,no spaces in between), her lungs and heart are no longer squished and of course her spine is straight, no curves. I guess having 2 -12 inch titanium rods and 18 titanium screws holding your spine straight for you would do that!!! The first 4 months were really hard, it was like having a newborn in the house again, she could not do ANYTHING for herself. My youngest dd helped out a lot and of course my dh. I just glad my dd has made it through this o.k and that she is in great health now. We took her out to lunch yesterday just to celebrate that we all survived this!!
Crystal, I am so glad things are looking alot better for her. I know the road was rough. But, you made it and look how well it turned out. Give that little pumpkin a big hug from us and let her know we are proud of her for being so brave and strong through this.....
That's great that she is doing so well. I worked with a teacher last year that had the surgery done as a child. She has the best posture of anyone I know and has no restrictions. Its amazing what the knowledge God has blessed doctors with.
Thank you ladies. We are very grateful that she is doing so great now. We didn't get a chance to do too much last weekend but this weekend ,at the park near me they are having the annual Balloonapalooza..there will be hot air balloons ( to ride also), concerts ( free Everclear one... we are sooooo going to that one!!!), lots of food and of course carnival rides!! So we will be on roller coasters and bumper cars and the ferris wheel this weekend!!!
Thats neat that she came through it all well, and so did the rest of the family. I know it was a lot of stress to you. Hope you get that chance to go to a theme park again.
