Okay..not homeschooling but I saw this and be warned it speaks of sex concerning teenage girls...and the use of sex toys. I am amazed this mindset exists. Now, I know everyone knows me well enough to know where I would stand on this issue. But I would even think someone not as conservative as me would be shocked. http://www.bettyconfidential.com/ar/ld/a/sex-toys-for-teens.html?source=1921&apu=1
I think parents push sex on their children too much. I am amazed at how much I see it. I have heard way too many parents who think their child is suffering if not dating at 12. It is a sign of being unpopular is what some parents think. I think it is disgusting.
Ava, I sat there literally with my mouth open. Is it no wonder our kids are so sexualized? Gee! And we wonder why so many children are having children! Well, I guess you can assume what will NOT be on my girls' Christmas list....
That's not something I would personally push sex toys for kids. But working at a store, I've had kids that look not much older than my oldest come in and buy condoms as well as steal them. They also buy and steal pregnancy tests too. In the case of the kids already having sex, I would rather them use toys personally than to actually have sex. I don't support this type of stuff, but at the same time the reality is out there and kids are having sex earlier than I ever thought about it. And I was a teen mom.
Ugh....Personally, I would think this would encourage risky behavior not prevent it. If young kids are urged to embrace sexuality why would they not also feel they are old enough for relations with others. Seems to me like our whole society is wayyyyy to focused on self gratification all around. Ava, sadly I was not shocked to read this. I wish I was! Not much seems shocking in today's world.
Oh, for those long lost works and OOP books written by Professor T.W. Shannon that gave such clarity on purity.
A verse about not awakening love until its time... in Song of Solomon. Having come from the boat of "anything BUT isn't really sex" I know first hand that one thing WILL lead to another - and this is just... one thing.
OMG - and there are people who are OK with this? And they wonder why their 14 yr old is pregnant or needs meds for her latest STD? Are you kidding me?!
