a little extra praying never hurts so

asking for some prayers for this week and next week. My DD12 is going off on another Girl Scout trip that will take her 5 hours away from me. She has already left once with the Japanese Girl Scouts over Memorial weekend but this time she is going to be a PA (program assistant) and will train two hours away at a different base and travel for another two hours or so to the camp.

I also feel for the girls and for the one mom that is going, one of my scout parents. She just learned today that there are no western toilets or closed showers at the campgrounds. It's all Japanese style with squatty potties and open showers. My DD and I are use to these while we do prefer the American way for bathroom needs we can put up with these conditions. I am even packing her extra soap and towels because they normally don't have those in the public bathrooms either.

Got a picture of all the girls during the PA training that took place at Yokota AF base. They all looked like they were having a good time. Now they should be at the campgrounds and they will also have a Japanese troop there as well.

Update on camps

Nagano was a blast. She had a wonderful time but quickly got tired of rice n noodles which were pretty much served daily. At least she didn't have to eat fermented beans daily. Now those are an interesting taste. It really does look like lumpy snotness. She did eat candies grasshoppers inside marshmellows. BLAH
This camp has passed and now for the even bigger but shorter camp. It's the Mt. Fuji Climb. She is still on to climb the Summit as long as the weather holds out. It's been and is scheduled to rain all week. I hope for the climb the weather will be good. I will be here at home where I can see Fuji. I am going to drive up the hill at dawn so I can take a picture. Hopefully she will take a picture too at the sunrise.
She has no fear and is excited to go. Me on the other hand thinks off all the worse things to come and I'm anxious about it.
