How do I make a custom avatar?

Is it the same thing as the profile pic? I've tried uploading one and it doesn't show as my avatar, and I don't see a place in "edit avatar" where I can upload a custom one. Am I overlooking something?

A profile picture is not the same as your avatar. That is all I know! LOL

I think you have to have been a member for 30 days before you can change to a custom avatar. The options are under User CP.
