I cannot believe it. I know my kids' dictionary was lame but how lame it is.

I did not have time to look the dictionaries over well the day I bought the history/social studies materials and put it off.

Today I pulled out the Scholastic First Dictionary and am very frustrated. I was having my student write a few sentences as part of her spelling power exercise and wanted to have her look up words to correct the spelling. She was writing a few short sentences about grilling a steak. I looked up grill and steak and neither word is in this dictionary.

    URRGGH.

I would have to plan lessons around the few words that are in this book. Not sure what its purpose was. Oh well.

I probably bought it super cheap as a bookclub item years ago, but still.

Who wants it. I will mail it, just PM me. It is like brand new still. Might be good for pre-k or K if you want a small dictionary to have students look up targeted words. Might be good for making vocab lists to be looked up as well.

Its pretty, not that that matters much.
