Have you seen on the news about Venus Ramey? She is an 84 year old woman who shot out the tires of a man who was trespassing on her farm in Kentucky. She had had old farm equipment stolen earlier and she found this man in a shed and he said he would leave. She pulled a 38 snub nosed revolver out and shot his tires out, flagged down a passing motorist who called 911 and the police arrested the man for trespassing. She was using a walker to get around when this happened. Venus Ramey was Miss America in 1944! Her picture was on bombers that flew missions over Germany. That's some beauty queen! I don't usually promote violence in any form but she sure knew how to protect what was hers. Way to go Venus!
 
Wow, she's not one to fool around with! I'm thinking people may think twice about stealing anything from "The Queen" again!!!
 
You can go on the Miss America website and find her picture when she was young. Very pretty lady.
 
I saw a picture of her on a walker. She must be a real character! Sounds like my grandmother. Once she was working at a sewing factory and a young woman who sat near her became her friend and would tell my grandmother her troubles. One day she came in and said her live in boyfriend had hit her little girl. She knew it was wrong but just didn't know what to do. She turned to my grandmother after listening to the advice of the younger women, and she said Marie what would you do. My grandmother, who at one time had the most perfect attendance pins in our church, said law me child, far be it from me to try to give anybody advice, but I'd kill the S. O. B. (only she used the words). And she never stopped sewing for a second when she said it. My grandmother never could handle anyone being mean to a child. She was a character too.
 
sounds, just like me, when I get her age... I take nothing from anyone right now.. I stand up for myself and I take care of my family and things.. cops are nice but by the time they get there it could be to late... but not here.
 
Wow, this story is still getting attention on the TV news. I saw it again this morning. She is so cute. Beth
