We just sent our 2 out!

I had to do a lot of the construction my 4.5 yr old did his own cutting, but I drew the shape for him. He drew the face and picked colors for clothing. I drew a t-shirt and shorts for him and he cut them out. It's fun though. We made a binder and put our return letters in it, and got a binder size map of our country on one side and the world on the other. We are putting stickers on the map for where Flat Stanley has traveled. The kids are really excited to open the letters when he comes back. It's great.

We won't be able to mail ours out until Wed. Did everyone laminate theirs? I need to do that tomorrow.

I don't have access to a laminator for a while due to flooding so I just covered ours on both sides with clear contact paper, that I have on hand from when we didn't have access to a laminator.

Another way to protect the flats just popped into my head. Packing tape that is clear.
Anyway I just wanted to add our flats are going out tomorrow. DH hours for work are awful. :]

Mine's going out today. My neighbor asked me to babysit at the last minute, so we didn't get to the P.O. yesterday.

We will be, I will have to check the mail more often. Mostly it is junk mail so we don't go there every day!!! We are excited about it.

We didn't laminate or contact paper ours the store here didn't have the contact paper. I didn't think about packaging tape. But we did double sided with construction paper ( as long as their little heads don't fall off ) and that made them pretty stiff

Was there a post as to when we needed to send our traveler back or other guidelines? Seems I read something, but I just can't find the post. Maybe I'm wrong???

I was wondering, too. There's much to do here, so want to keep any time frame in mind.
