I am putting together a scavanger hunt for my children to do. It contains all of the items that seem to get up and walk away. It is pretty funny to see some of the items that are listed. So it got me wondering what gets up and walks away at your home? (besides socks and tv remotes) I am curious as to what other families lose in their day to day activities. I think this will be fun!
Socks are the larval form of wire and plastic coat hangers. They travel through the walls from the washer/dryer to the closet, where they metamorphose.
What doesn't get lost in my house would be a quicker question...LOL. Cell phones get lost, the DS and the games to it, keys, shoes, schoolwork, books, plates (yep, I said plates...it makes no sense but it has happened), cups, jackets...many many more. I have to do inventory with my daughter every now and then to make sure she hasn't 'lost' anything that is important. A scavenger hunt would probably be more fun. I will have to try that next time. Be Blessed, Dawn
The tape dispenser, rulers, the big rubber bands, and the upstairs cat. She probably doesn't count because she isn't really lost, she just hides.
lets see....forks and spoons (I just know I had far more of them than I do now), pens and pencils, paperclips, binder clips, my stapler is always missing, cub scout neckerchief slides, sippy cups (those however DO have legs his name is Twiggles), oh and of course socks and shoes.
scissors, keys, pencils( until I stocked up all rooms of house lol), phone, remotes, mittens(but only one at a time), hats.
hmm... tape, pencils, favourite toys, Hannah (2 yr old that hides in the house!). Mostly we've solved it by buying too many rolls of tape, pencils, pens etc. Toys, well that's the kids issue. I'll help a little bit, but if it's lost, it's up to them to find it. I'm still working on teaching Hannah to yell "mommy" if I call her, so that I can find her easier!! She's so funny. She could spend 30 min in the closet, just because she thinks it's so funny to hide.
Has anyone mentioned the TV remote? That's the big thing in our house! Keys, pencils, pens, school work....
I have a child that can tell you where pretty much anything is (even if he saw it a year ago) as long as it doesn't belong to him. If it belongs to him, it's lost and he doesn't have a clue where to find it.:?
My mom was complaining yesterday about all of her plasticware bowl being suddently - GONE! without a trace!
For us it is specific Lego or GI Joe components. He can tell me where and when he acquired the said item, and what he was watching on TV the first time he played with it, but when he is looking for it, there are no ideas as to where he lost it.
The sock monster visits your home too, hey? LOL I don't know what happens to them, but I just bought hubby some new work socks a month ago and already there are two mismatched socks that don't have a match for them. Arg! Let's see...my house is pretty well organized, but more often than not we always have pieces of toys or games missing. They turn up in the oddest places too! Pens...ugh. We always seem to be buying new pens or getting more from the bank. We can never have enough. We have to consistantly send search parties out for our tv remote because it seems nobody likes to put it away in the REMOTE BASKET where it belongs.
