Ok, what's the cost of gas where you are (other than outrageous). Our's is $1.12 9/10 per litre (when you figure the conversion it equates to more than $4 a gallon). It was $2.66/gallon in Houlton Maine yesterday...
Just filled up tonight... ...and paid $2.57/gal. We live by the lake and it's almost always a little higher than "in-town" prices.
$2.50 down here in the south. They say it's going to get over $3.00 per gallon. WOW !!!!!! Alittle high but that wouldn't be the only thing that goes up, the truckers will have to charge for gas, so there goes the rising prices on food, and everything else. Wow !!!!!!!! Need to thing before we go and trying to do everything will we are out in one day trip.
$2.65 in central Ohio. There goes any raise DH might get this year!!! We're trying to combine every time we go out of the house...I already told my kids we will be going to the library pretty much early Wednesday evenings ONLY, because it's on the way to AWANAS. There really isn't ANYTHING close enough for us to get to without the car, which is part of the problem.
Here in Colorado we are at $2.70 per gallon. We only have one gas station in our small town so they are able to jack their prices up due to no competition. The bad part, we are ONE HOUR away from the nearest grocery store. If we go north we go over a big mountain pass and if we go south it is 10 miles longer to the store. We don't drive small economy cars because living in Podunkville and we have to shop for a lot of groceries that will get you by for several weeks. So crew cabs and a Suburban aren't very economical. Brenda, you said your gas is equivl. to $4.00 a gallon in Canada, that is a lot. Curious, what are the wages like there? I read here in Colorado. middle class wages are $42,000.00 per year. How does that compare to Canada?
Here in middle Michigan the gas is $2.80 and steadily rising a penny or two everyday. We found a gas station yesterday where they had cheap and middle grade for $2.68 so we filled up our car and gas cans there.
Ours in SC are running around $2:49 a gallon. They keep going up all the time. It is sad. We have cutted back a lot of unecessary trips. I can't afford to stay in the road.
Here in CA it is $2.81. I live in a small town close to Death Valley. Down by LA its alittle higher, like $2.85-$3.00 depending on the brand of gas ( Shell, Chervon, Costco, etc...).
I was out today, and found it interesting that there was a .15 difference in prices. The one place had it at $2.65, while the Meijer's had it for $2.50 (plus a coupon I have for an additional .03 off). I need to let DH know when I get home, because that's the cheapest I've seen it. What I would LIKE to see (yeah, right!!!) would a a station that would advertise its price for the WEEK, and stick with it! For the life of me, I don't understand why it fluctuates so much!
$2.49 here in PA. I am trying not to drive if I dont have to. With my Suburban it costs a fortune to go anywhere.
We should all boycot gas bars for a couple of days, but in order for that to be effective EVERYONE who drives would have to do so. There's no need of the gas prices being as high as they are (but then end times say that it will cost a days wages for things - I think we're there with gas)
Filled up the Suburban it cost about $78.00 for 29 gallons of gas.- $2.68 per gal. It has a 40 gallon tank so it would only be $107.20 if I let it get empty. How scarrey! My honey's work truck for our business gets 6 MILES PER GALLON and will take over $100.00 to fill. Unfortunately our customers arent going to be happy when we have to raise prices just to cover the cost of gas. I priced wood pellets today for our pellet stove and the store still had some left over from last year for the same price, $159.99 a ton. So I gave them my credit card # over the phone to reserve two pallets of pellets. They said when they run out and get in a new shipment, the pellets will cost substantially more. That is scarrey too! Gas prices effect everything, from the milk we drink to the clothes on our backs. Lets pray prices will go down.
I am fortunate enough to have moved closer to hubby's work in February. We decided to move closer when gas was around $1.75. Talk about the Lord's hand! Whew! I am also fortunate to live in the Midwest where the cost of living is cheapest, at least it seems, and we have ethenol blends that are way cheaper than regular gas. Maybe that is why we are still at $2.39 for the ethenol blend.
ok, we got the gas prices down, how about food? what does every one spend on groceries for a week? I can't seam to get our under $200 aweek for a family of 6.
