Even though it's a holiday and dh is home, we are having a school day. Both boys have dentist appts. tomorrow so we will take tomorrow off instead.

This isn't sitting too well with them. :-D

No school! DH didn't have school, so neither did we. I took my middle one out to lunch and to get her ears pierced. It was her birthday present from May; we told her she would have to wait until summer was over because I didn't trust her to take proper care of them at camp, etc. We also spent two hours at the pool, getting in that "last" swim.

No school today! Dh was home (4-day weekend) so we played most of the day -- didn't want to drive and waste any expensive gas! Just just finished having a water balloon fight in the backyard and had a blast!

Shockingly, we live on a really popular lake in NE Oklahoma and you'd be amazed at the number of boats and jet skis out on the water "playing" and burning all that expensive gas!

Oh, Kris, we have one of those, too! A dollar before 6, a dollar-fifty after six, and fifty cents all day on Tuesdays. We won't discuss the cost of pop or popcorn, though! Trouble is, I'm spending everything I save on the gas to get there!

Yea Jackie we don't eat much popcorn just get a small bag my dd's don't like popcorn for the movie place. And then we buy one soda a share and drink when it's done.

Ours is only about 1/2 mile from our house. Not bad and they drop the price of gas down here today which was nice too.

Our movie theater lets you have a free refill on a large popcorn, so we buy one big one to share. I bring large ziploc bags in my purse and we get seated, I distribute the popcorn in each one's 'baggie' and then we go get the free refill---plenty for everyone!

We had school Monday- too early in the year for a day off, and with two of the boys being in tackle football this fall, I am sure there will be a day to have a "light" day (reading, journal, music practice, computer) somewhere soon! We read about how Labor Day came about, and then all week we are studying different jobs/careers- I had one son today who thought an oceanographer sounded cool; and one who thought an entomologist sounded neat- and the "bug" part was a bonus (he just liked the sound of the word!!) lol.

We did a science project in the kitchen today with oldest DS and he tried to convince me that he did two subjects in one- home ec and science. I laughed and told him not to forget the math as well! ha-ha

Before I moved to Arizona we lived right next door to our $1 movie theater, I sure do miss it, the ones here are $3. We did not do school yesterday. I actualy got to go to work at my mom's store, she doesn't pay me but lets me pick out things we need, I got a new pot & pan set that we really needed--- I am so rough on that non stick stuff! But It was nice getting a way from the kiddo's for a while. The kids love staying home with dad he lets them do almost any thing they want! One time he let them play the X-box for over 6 hours! I couldn't believe it.

I gave up on the non-stick stuff some time ago. I now use caste iron for frying, and I do most of my baking in the Pampered Chef stoneware.

Jackie I use to love the stone ware from pamper chief until I put chicken in one and it blow up and started a fire. They took the stone ware and check it and found out it wasn't up to the heat in the oven.
They replaced it but scared to use any of that stuff again.

YOU'RE KIDDING!!! Wow! Was it a defective stone? I've never had trouble, and I use mine all the time. I can see why you are hesitant to use one!

Did somebody mention pampered chef? I love the stuff. I'm not into the non-stick stuff too much either. I use a cast iron frying pan too. But I bake mainly in the stoneware. My family calls me the pampered chef lady. I have most of their stones. I'm really surprised that happened with your stone Kris. I guess I would cry if that happened to mine. I hate messes specially in the oven.

Anyways, we had school yesterday too. We took last week wednesday off. But we had a light day.
