I think I mentioned a few times that she has these mornings where she wakes up REALLY HUNGRY. Then she eats, feels sick, lays down - sometimes throws up, sleeps a little then she's FINE. We had another one yesterday - 4th time in six months. This one's lasting longer though. She's fine for a couple hours if she rests...then it all starts again. Pray for her please. I think it might be a blood sugar issue, but she's really miserable and I can't help her!!! I'm going to call the doctor and see if I can get her in this week and maybe see if they'd order some blood work for her. THANKS!
I hope you can get her in to see the doctor right away. We find out tomorrow about our son's test results from some strange episodes he has been having. It may be seizures. I will be praying for your daughter. Beth
Beth, I am praying for your son too. I hope all is well but if something is wrong, I pray it is discovered quickly. Patty
This time it is REALLY lingering...she's been up and down all weekend. I'm trying to get thru to the doctor now...please pray. I'm really hoping it's nothing serious....why does my brain go to something awful going on inside her. Beth - praying for your son as well!
have you tried tums to settle the acid? My DD has terrible acid reflux, it helps some, maybe pepto bismol to coat the stomach?? I hope she gets through it soon. Hope its not something big.
I let her convince me that she was okay! UGH. she went to gymnastics tonight, and did not feel well after. I still think it's a blood sugar issue. I was reading about growth spurt induced hypoglycemia - it passes, but when they don't eat enough for the demand of energy, it happens. I called doc, they told me to wait it out a few days. I'm calling again tomorrow and insisting they see her. I'd rather waste $20 copay and know it's just a virus we have to wait out...then not and find out later it was more serious than that. Please keep praying.
She has a 1:30 appointment. PLEASE PRAY...that the doctors have ideas, etc. and don't just say "It's a virus, wait it out". I mean, I'd rather spend the $$ and hear that than NOT do anything. BUT...I'd hate to find out 2 months from now that it WASN'T a virus, ya know? Pray for me too...due to my experiences with the incompetencies with the medical community, I distrust them SOOOO much. So much of waht they do is guess work, and well, "lets see if THIS works" approach. THANKS...
Oh Krista, I know your frustration. I too would rather pay the $20 to find it is nothing. Yet, I often say that I am not going to pay $20 just to find out it is a virus. LOL. However, that is when my kids have the sniffles. Your dd needs to be looked at..until then you won't rest easy. Praying it is nothing. However, praying that if it is something other than a virus you have the answer promptly.
Thank you for praying all... Doctor did a urinalysis while in the office and she does have ketones in her urine BUT she said that could just be a sign of dehydration...and to keep pushing fluids like we have been. She ordered a bunch of blood tests to check for glucose, CBC (mostly for anemia and white blood count), etc. She said these will check for all the "biggies". If they all come back normal, we'll cross that bridge then. She said it could even just be hormonal. SO...we're supposed to go get bloodwork done tomorrow a.m. HOPEFULLY! Pray...my daughter is not thrilled iwth the idea...but if we can get them done tomorrow, we could have results by Thursday. Thanks.
I hope you can get it done tomorrow! The sooner the better! if she doesn't like that kind of thing, the longer she has to wait the harder it will be! Do it and get it over with, I say! But having a dd who hates needles and can't stand the sight of blood, I can understand the hesitancy and dread for sure! Praying for courage and peace! And that you can get to the bottom of whatever this is!
