NIV... My son has the "bible for boys" and it points out cool and "gross" stuff that happens in the bible - keeps an 11 yr old occupied finding stuff some days. My daughter has one for young readers which just has larger print and some pictures. They both love them. I have the NIV in LARGE PRINT Not that I should wear glasses or anything - or that I'm getting older..... But it seems to work for us.

I am one of those AWANA teachers that wants the kid to recite the verse as is. LOL. I don't stress them out about it. If I know they are trying hard and they forget a "the" I let it go. We are allowed to give them a help. However, I am pretty strict about bible memorization. LOL.
