    NIV...

My son has the "bible for boys" and it points out cool and "gross" stuff that happens in the bible - keeps an 11 yr old occupied finding stuff some days.

My daughter has one for young readers which just has larger print and some pictures.

    They both love them.

I have the NIV in LARGE PRINT ;) Not that I should wear glasses or anything - or that I'm getting older.....

But it seems to work for us.

Complete Jewish Bible and the English Standard Version. We also have NIV and King James, but the first two are my favorite.

I am one of those AWANA teachers that wants the kid to recite the verse as is. LOL. I don't stress them out about it. If I know they are trying hard and they forget a "the" I let it go. We are allowed to give them a help. However, I am pretty strict about bible memorization. LOL.
