As part of our school day?? No. Not that I think it's wrong but just because I'm trying to get mine out of their public school mode.

Yes. We just started doing so this year. I waited until my kids turned 5 & 6 because I wanted them to be able to understand what the words meant when they were reciting them.

We have not yet but with the Elections unit we are doing it seems fitting so we may add it. I need a little flag though.

I haven't yet, but that is something I want my kids to learn so I probably ought to think about it.

We used to when we first started out because I wanted them to learn it. We also learned the Star Spangled banner and its history in one of the first History books in AOP. THat was helpful learnign what it is all about and why they pledge alligence and all that, ( Sorry that was a bad spelling LOL) I think it is important for new learning at home people to remember that these are part of our countries begining. This is where we started and what out country is founded on the words are important to know.
Now that they are older they have outgrown the novelty of it so we don't do it all the time, just once in a while to keep it fresh so at big productions or whatever we are not the only ones not saying it is another good reason! You don't want your kids to be the only ones who don't have a clue what they are talking about in this case!

We did the first two years but really didn't start that this year. We are learning the questions on the US citizenship test and they have to know all 100 answers by the end of the school year. We got a sample test out of the newspaper and have been working on those questions.

I do the pledge and national anthem during our circle time. While my oldest already knows it my 3 and 4 year olds don't. My oldest knew it by K so I want them to know it also. We bought a little flag after the 4th when there was a bunch of cleance of patriotic stuff.
Also I have added more to our circle time and talk about the history of both, its more for my oldest than my younger two.

Guess I should add that all 3 of mine knew the pledge before we began homeschooling. They also say it weekly at AWANA so that's the reinforcement each week to remember it. If we had started HSing and they had not learned it, I probably would have incorporated it into our day.

We do after our morning prayer. I try to have them say it 2-3 times a week.
I also have my son recite the "Cub Scout Promise" after the pledge since we are trying to memorize it this month.
I will probably start saying the pledge daily since my 5 yr old is trying to learn it.

No ~ for obvious reasons. lol. But I realised last year we hadn't even learnt our National Anthem when Ditz was required to sing it at a concert. It just wasn't a priority.

No, they say it at their 4-H club, if not there, then I would make sure they learned it.

When we remember to, we do it. But sometimes I forget. Bad mommy! Neither of the boys know it by heart...Zach used to, but he's forgotten from lack of use. Right now I'm just focusing on making sure we start with Bible every day. LOL

I just bought a book on it, and today was our first day to go over it. I thought it was a great book. You can find it at christianbook.com search for pledge. It's on clearance for $1.99. Great buy! I am extremely patriotic, so we will be saying it every morning.

We didn't say it for the previous 1 1/2 years. My son had learned it in ps for his 1/2 year of Kinder. but I didn't really go with it after that. I decided over the summer that they should probably know it just because it's good to know, so we do say it daily now.

YEARS ago, we got a small poster of the pledge that I love. It not only has the pledge, but defines it in a great way. I forget how we got it but I searched and found it at "Gateway to a Better Education" sorry I can't post a URL yet, but it's on their web under "online store".
