Publicly surprising military children -- why?

Yes thank you, My husband is getting ready to leave. There are three units all leaving to three different countries. Prayer are needed for all families.

As of yesterday, it's looking like my DH may go to Afghanistan in Feb for 6 mos. Not a done deal yet (and thus we aren't spoiling the kids Christmas) but it's looking pretty likely.

But a 6 mo deployment would be the shortest ever for us so I'll take it over the 12 mos he had two years ago or the 22 mo. one he had 18 mos before that.

6 mos will be a breeze....comparatively of course.

And he hasn't been to Afghanistan yet so I guess we can check that off the list....he's done Saudi for 14 mos., followed immediately with 8 mos in Iraq (w/o coming home) and then another 12 in Iraq.......at least he'll have a new adventure:lol: Gotta find the bright side in it somehow, right?
