since I am only homeschooling a kindy age kiddo. Today was easy. sort of. Still had to get up early to wake up oldest so he wouldn't miss the bus (he goes to public school). Somehow I managed to get my 6 and 5 yo up and dressed and fed and skated on 4 wheels across town to their speech therapy apt. There is a lot of snow on the ground here. The 5 yo starts special ed preschool tomorrow so That's when the 6yo officially starts her schoolwork. Although I still have to order what hubby and I decided to use. We are reading and working on our sounds and going to homeschool group tomorrow. I was lucky to even have a car today but thanks to friends who came over yesterday and helped hubby fix it I got a running vehicle. And to top it all off Today is my oldest's birthday.. He is officially a teenager 13 years old. YIKES where did the time go!!!!!!

I'm ready for day 2 - LOL..... and I have a baby goat in the house jumping all over the place right now driving me NUTS!! But he is cute - so he does have that going for him

Well, We made it through the day. Time FLEW by. I didn't realize it was so late until I looked at the time on my computer. It was 5:30!! WOW! I started supper late and felt really bad when I realized that we were eating at 9:30.

We had a busy day. We sold a small amount of pecans to the feed store, went to storytime at the library, did a craft there and then we came home and ate lunch. After lunch the little one took a nap while the rest of the kiddos started their schooling. They were NOT happy about it at all! So we fought quite a bit. And it took a while to get their work done,BUT we did get it done. Today is cuddle day. We are wearing our jammies all day and after a short school day we will cuddle up and watch movies that we picked out at the library yesterday.. I'm sure we aren't going to watch them all but that's ok. The ones I picked out are "The Indian in the Cupboard" and "The Sign of the Beaver". The kids picked out "veggie tales" and "Kung Fu Panda".

We got everything done, but it was sluggish. However, due to an impromptu idea from my mom - we decided a trip to the library to check out the used books and even tho there was not much for my ds, my dds and I spent a whopping $1.60 on a good sized bag of books! :)

Then we checked out a bunch and came home and vegged. After a big day back, we needed that!

It's nice to hear that some of you also felt sluggish on your first day back. Today is our first day, and I feel like lead is running through my veins!

We were going to start back up last week but waited until yesterday. Ems had a lot of last minute visits with her friends she wanted to get in before starting back. Some of them do not start back until next Monday. So we took last week off after all.

Yesterday went well. We covered two days of almost each subject. Right now we are in a section of math that is basically review. As for language, she usually flies through this as well. She read early in the morning and everything else was basic. Hopefully today is as easy.:D

Our second day back is going well. Freddy just left to take the girls to the library and I am sitting here resting while Babyboy naps. It is cold and rainy out today so I was glad to be the one who stayed home. Now if I just didn't have to take Crystal to a 7pm basketball practice I could avoid all the messy weather. She loves it though. Basketball is her favorite sport.

Today went very well. Yesterday was a disaster...we began at 10 and didn't finish until after 5. The boys fought me over every little thing so the spent most of the day in their room on their beds! However after all that yesterday today's work got done in 2 hours!!!!!! Horray!

My plan was to start back yesterday but we were able to schedule my dh's colonoscopy for today. That meant that yesterday I was staying on top of him taking the prep liquids for today. Today was the test and tomorrow we have to go do big grocery shopping so I told her we will start back on Thurs. I planned this week as review anyhoo so we won't be off track. Less review is all!

Well, today didn't go quite as fast as yesterday. I had two little monkies that decided to get up and watch TV at 2AM this morning  (And I'm talking 8 year olds that KNOW better!) And they woke up half the house in the process. So I was a little sluggish this morning and so were they..lol.

I so want to stay snuggled up - but Alexis has dance class so we head off to dance class. I have to head to the store while she's there anyways so I can have coffee in the morning!

School went ok today - got a new book in we start next week - English from the Roots Up. So I'm excited about that as it looks pretty cool.

I did allow ds to extend his Quiz/Self-Test over 2 days since we didn't really review much first. But I think he remembered all the concepts as he was going along (Language Arts - which is a sore subject for us)

We're still behind. Slept VERY well last night, but had Staff Meeting at the church this morning. Plus I've a whole room of stuff in boxes that are in the middle of my Sunday School Room that needs to be sorted and put away (we moved last year, and just got all the stuff out of storage in October, and the room to put it in is finally clear for me!). Since starting next week I have co-op following Staff Meeting, I wanted to get a start on all this stuff. Didn't get home until 2:30! But the kids had their "normal" list of school work to do during Staff Meeting, and then they really pitched in and helped our pastor's wife move stuff that needed moved into the basement. (And they were given a bag of cookies and candy from the Food Pantry; Judy, the lady who gave it to them, told them that she was "going to hide from your mom so I don't get in trouble!!!", lol!)

We started back yesterday with school and dance classes and today I started back babysitting.

Yesterday went just ok. Sam gave me some issues during grammar. I have got to get that kid working on her own more! That is my goal with her.

Four nights a week are late night dance classes. Then she eats, takes a bath and wants to watch a movie or something not just go right to bed. So I told her that if she can learn to work more independently then I will let her stay up later and sleep later.

But if she can't do that and I have to be there with her for every little thing then she must follow my schedule. I babysit and have to have a certain daily routine.

Today went so much better. She did most of her work on her own! If she can go all week like this then next week I will begin letting her kind of make her own schedule.

okay, I changed two subjects today, we skipped the secnd review on English and went to the next days work, it was reading and answering questions, that was much better for his mind today.
And for Math I took on a task of having him create the Multiple/factor cards for his office. HE fussed a bit until I told him how much easier it was going to make it for him!
We played a couple rounds of, Show me the common factors, of these two , and multiples, same thing,
I joined in and wrote some out for him too and smile boy came out finally! lol
especially when I tod him he could do the workbook or work on this project, Lol!
TOmorrow we will do mean and mode again... ANd he will make cards up for those! We already have holders!
And we are going to make up Geometric clues too, for the fornulas to be in... Then when we work on the differnt things we can go tothe proper spot pull a card and knwo what to do with out fussing!
We will put the definition for mean mode and all those M words in another slot!
    Weee!
