We felt the need to do something different and new. I ordered tickets to a play at a local community college to see The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The girls, Freddy, Bill, and I all got ready yesterday morning and ran by the church to set up our part of the afterschool program and then we set out for the play. It was cold but sunny and everyone was in a great mood. We got there and weren't sure we were in the right parking lot because we didn't see many cars. We were there about 15 minutes before the school bus kids were supposed to arrive but something didn't feel right to me. I went inside and finally found a lady in an office. She said they canceled the play! She said someone was supposed to have called me the day before. I told her nobody called us and that I had spoken to the lady in charge the day before. I wasn't mad but just disappointed for the kids. The lady there was very nice and said how sorry she was that this happened. She took our phone number down in case they do the play later on. So my winter blahs only got worse. I felt like we wasted the whole day yesteday. Sigh! BUT! It is supposed to be in the 60s this weekend!

Just remember the winter blahs only last so long.. I can recall years of going through this slump, this year however it is not getting to me.. for some reason we actually did reach the half way point in our school lessons only a week late this time? Maybe it is because I have put less focus on staying on schedule and more on following the list this year? hmmm.. Hope I do this well next month!
Dd is sick this week so next week may be not so fun, but I love February!

I can't remember getting the blah's so bad before. It could have something to do with the winter starting so early this year and the fact that it is only in the single digits today. Thankfully the sun is shining. Maybe I'll be like my dogs and lay in the sunny spot of the rug and pretend that its summer!

OH! The roosters are wacked here they go all night long. So when I get home from work at 12:30 I have to hear them serenade me to sleep. I also hate feeding the horses in the cold. Our days are much slower now. I just do what I can and some days the girls and I just take it easy and regroup.

We did most of today's schooling yesterday. My sil and bil took us to lunch today and I knew they would want to visit with us.
    It was a nice break.
