We've been so off schedule lately it's crazy. I like to start around 9 or 10. It's been more like 1pm when we begin now.

I like starting around 9, the same as the school here. I have started at 8 and have started at 9 or some days we start after lunch. It depends on the days and what is going on. I would like to start getting up at 5 and have them up at 630-7 and start at 730. The schools at the base we are moving to start at 730 in the morning and this is elementry school. I started at 730 in high school. Today we will start late because we had a late night. I don't expect to see any of my kids emerge from their beds until after 7 or closer to 8.

Oh, Tiffany, that was one of my favorite poetry books!!! I memorized so much of it when I was a kid; I've given a hardback copy of "The World of Christopher Robin" to my neice for Christmas. I'll probably give a copy to my other little neice this year; she's 5, so maybe I'll wait another year.

When dh works 6-2 and 8-4 we are started by 9 a.m.
When he words 2-10p.m. I try to get a subject in sometime in the morning hours, two would even be better. Then the work is finished up after 2.

Jackie when we are finished with it we will start Now We Are Six. It is really cool to see a child the age of 6 so into poetry!

Isn't it, though? I used the poem from "Now We Are Six" for my Developmental Psych notebook in college. We had to have a section on different stages, and I used poems/quotes to introduce each section. The "When I was one/ I had just begun...." was perfect for the school-age child! My favorite of all time, though is either "Sneezles" or "Vespers".

I feel so much better you guys!

I always get up early because I have to go out and feed animals and plus I never sleep past 8 am unless I am very sick, but then I just get caught up in e-mails and what-not that it seems time just gets away from me.

I usually wake up DS after I come in from the barn and then he MUST have downtime to wake up. So he watches TV and eats breakfast while I work. Sometimes I just forget to get him started until it is well past nine.

But I guess it doesn't really matter, this is just another wonderful thing about homeschooling!

Our scheduled school times are 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm. We almost always start on time, however, the girls are almost always having some schoolwork left over that they're doing outside of those hours.

We had been getting started by 8:15 but here lately with everyone sick and me not sleeping well at night we aren't getting started until 11 or later. Sometimes We start around 1pm. I would much rather start early. We are usually done about noonish when we do get going. I like that MUCH better!! It gives me more time to do what needs to be done around the house while the kids play outside or watch a little tv.. Today we have taken the day off and next week is our scheduled week off (3 weeks on,1 week off) So they are still in bed sound asleep and it's a little after 9.. I actually had a few hours to myself this morning!! Yippee.. Now If I wasn't so tired I'd be doing good. Time to start taking my vitamins again..

My husband's job moved, so now he can come home for lunch. Yayy! We usually start school after he goes back to work, unless we have to be somewhere in the afternoon. So far this has been a great schedule for us. :)

We start at 9 and go until (roughly) 1:30, sometimes later or earlier. We break for lunch between 12:00 - 12:30.

The kids are up by 7 almost every day. They have breakfast, take a shower (they trade days on the shower), get dressed, and brush hair & teeth. Then, they go play for awhile. I relax & go on the computer until 9. At 9am, ds watches PBS for an hour while I work with dd. At 10am, dd works independantly while I work with ds. We take a break at 11:30 for lunch. Then start again after lunch & work until we're done for the day.
Sometimes we get a late start, but this is usually how our day goes.

We have been starting a lot later than I would ideally like, but I get home from work at 11:50 or so at night. So, I know I shouldn't be too hard on myself. My goal would be to start devotions at 7:30 or 8:00. Then start math and English (the academics). Then do the the more relaxed/free subjects. I would like to be done with at least 75% of the "work" by lunch. But that has yet to happen, because I often sleep until 9:00. I think I can wake earlier if I discipline myself to go to bed earlier. I love to stay up late (2:00 or 3:00).

We get up anywhere from 8:30 - 10:30 am. eat breakfast and then start to work. If she sits and does her work, she can get it done in 2 1/2 - 3 hours. However, she has been known to drag it out all day. On Wednesday and Thursday I have to be at work by 8:30, so we get up earlier and she does her work there. We are usually 10 - 15 minutes late though, we just aren't morning people. My schedule is flexible, so it's no big deal.

Typically between 9-9:30. Depending on how quickly they get through lessons we will do something after lunch. This is T-F. Monday is P.E. So we don't get home till 11:30,lunch,then lessons start around 12:15,then I go to work at 3:30.
