I think this could be good for her if she takes advantage of the time she will have with them. I guess we will see.

the link wouldn't open for me, but that's very interesting based on what a PP said about the reasons. I used to watch the J & K Plus 8 show and liked it at fist b/c they were in an average house, he worked, she stayed home and it seemed like they were the average couple who happened to have a large family and trying to make ends meet and work it out. DH even bought me their book and it seemed very "God-centered" and I enjoyed it. Then it seemed they started to go on more luxurious trips (comp'd I'm sure) and they moved into that GARGANTUAN house, it seemed Jon quit working and their relationship was changing. It used to seem more pokey-fun at him, but then she seemed to start being more critical. I pretty much quit watching after that.

I recently saw an episode of Kate + 8 while she was with the kids in Alaska on a whale watching tour. Every time they saw a whale in the distance she would start screaming. A couple of the kids were upset b/c they couldn't see the whales and were crying/fussing. Then, they saw some whales in the wake and she was screaming for them to STOP!! Tell them to STOP! Turn around!! I couldn't stand watching it, it was so annoying. I felt so bad for the other people on that boat. I think I would have asked for a refund!

WOW! A single mom with eight kids, and they're taking a cruise in Alaska. Sounds like "reality" to me! Only thing real is the kids crying/fussing because they couldnl't see any whales.

So they still have a TV show? Ugh. It's awful to think what these kids lives must be like. Privacy!?! Don't these kids need some privacy? Ugh.

Maybe homeschooling 2 will move into homeschooling them all. Yes, I do agree who are we to judge let's just hope for the best for her because her children are at stake here.

Well she is a control freak and it is sad to see what these children have to put up with. She did it all for the fame and at the childrens expense. I don't think it will end up well and as for the children having rage issues is not good and she needs to get a handle on her children first and farmost before going any further. But this is my view. So I can be wrong and I can admitt it too. but I have never liked her and I don't watch the show any more becuse it is a train wreck.

I saw the Today show interview -- she isn't homeschooling, exactly. She's hired a private tutor. She claims they weren't expelled, they just had a clash between the stress of divorce and the stress of the very advanced curriculum at the private school. I would lay odds they're doing school-at-home. The goal, she says, is to get them back into the private school before the end of the school year.

I saw an article on this when I was at the eye Dr. It said she's hired a private tutor so I don't really consider it homeschooling. The article also said she wasn't happy about paying for the tutor and wanted the ex to pay for it. So sad for those kids.
