DS14 got saved today!! I am SOOOOOOO excited!! This is the kids who was totally against anything of God.. He went on the mission trip to Ohio this summer and worked in the inner city missions and came back a TOTALLY different kid! I've seen his heart soften towards the things of God since then. He actually brought his bible to the table yesterday for bible study. I found some REALLY neat bible studies on my quest at mardels the other day.. All were in the discount shelf for $3.. They are foundational. They come from Following God Christian living series. This one is talking about how we can trust the word of God to be true.. Anyhow, my son has been eating this up!! TOTALLY! And put that with his girlfriend and her mom and the bible studies that they have been doing at their home with him. I really think that this has all come together in the right timing for God to save him!! And the youth pastor that we are having issues with is the one who prayed with him. So I'm really EXCITED!!!! He will be baptised sunday morning!!!

The angels are singing! I have a similar praise, younger child. My six-yr-old came with questions two weeks ago that resulted in the same thing!

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
We are dancing with the angels over your dear son.
    Praise God.

Hallelujah! I don't think there can be any greater feeling as a parent than knowing that your child will spend eternity in the arms of the Lord. God bless you, your son, and your family!!

Most definately will keep him in the word!!! Today's his bday and his girlfriend bought him a bible marked some of her favorite verses in it for him.. She's an amazing young lady..

He will have it to bring to our bible study in the mornings. The bible studies I have are for adults but I do the study the night before and then paraphrase it for them. The Following God series. LOVE them. Our study right now is on how we can trust God's word as truth.. He's been soaking it up. And his G/F mom said he's soaking up the studies that they have done over there as well. Keep him in your prayers. I hope that he doesn't abandon this when/if they break up.. Kinda funny to watch them. They don't hang all over each other like most teens. She and he have a purity pact so I think that has a lot to do with it..

Is she the one the youth pastor is having fits with? Sounds like a good influence, to me!

    Rejoicing with you and Middlereaders!

Same song, different verse: our 6-year old grandson has just made the same decision! He's living with us right now, for schooling. Yesterday at the lunchtable, he asked, "What is sacrificing for?"

"Sacrifice is when you give up something that's really really important."

"Oh. Well, then, what is it when he holds a cloth like this and puts you under the water?"

    "You mean baptizing?"

    "Yeah, bap-a-tizing. I wanna get bap-a-tized."

"Why do you want to do that?"

    "What's it like?"

"Well, it's a lot like getting wet. Why do you want to do that?"

"Because I want Jesus to come in my heart."

So after school we stopped by and talked to our pastor, who has been thrilled with how enthusiastic dgs is about coming to Sunday School and church, and about this very grown-up decision. We were on our way to take AngelBoy home to his mama and daddy and baby brother for the weekend, so we'll talk some more later. When we got him home, and I told ds and ddil that their son has an announcement to make, their faces were understandably apprehensive about what it could possibly be, but were delighted to find out what it was. DS had made his decision when he was not much older than AngelBoy, although I can't say he's maintained his end of the relationship... Maybe this is the "and a little child shall lead them" that it will take to get him back on the road?

YAY!!!!! My daughter was 3 when she made the commitment.. Anyone who tells you that a three year old doesn't understand is looney!! cuz this girl has always had a heart for God.. She is constantly writing songs and singing them for Jesus.. She's 11 now and still talks about the day she got saved!!
