Once upon a time, I would have said, "Yeah, right!!!" But then I taught 2yo Sunday School. One little girl wasn't quite three yet when she made a decision. Her mother called me and asked whether we discussed "accepting Jesus" in SS. Uh, no, I really didn't think it was appropriate at that age. We talk about how Jesus is a Special Friend, how He loves us, how we want to obey Jesus, etc. Well, Mom was changing her daughter's diaper one day, and the little girl announced, "Mommy, I want Jesus in my heart! Dear Jesus, come into my heart. Amen!!!" Mom said that it may have come from dinnertime talks with the older children. Then another had just turned three. Her family had left our church, but we saw each other at a funeral of a mutual friend. Her mom told her, "Tell Miss Jackie what decision you made the other day." "Miss Jackie, I asked Jesus into my heart." Again, the child had told Mom on her own, "Mommy, I want Jesus in my heart. How do I get him there?" My last story is about my own girls. When Faythe was about four, somehow we got talking about it. Rachael, two years older, said, "Mommy, I already explained all that to her, and she prayed it with me!" HUH??? Can you believe a 6yo leading her little sister to the Lord? Well, why not?
