Hi there, everyone! My name is Jacci and I live in Dayton, Ohio with my husband of 6 years and our 3 young daughters. We are expecting our 4th child in late February '07. We are very blessed with a large, homeschooling circle of friends. I still really enjoy message boards, though, and I'm excited to have found this one! We will be beginning kindergarten with our oldest this September and my middlest will be doing pre-K4. The youngest is 21 months old and lives up to her name... Joy. "Raisin" (as the girls have so affectionately named the new baby) will certainly throw a spin on the school year, but we're very excited to have such an interruption. Thanks to Deena and Meg for helping me with some registration problems. I appreciate it ladies, and I look forward to "talking" with all of you.
Well, welcome! We share a name, though I spell mine the conventional way. I'm from the Columbus area. I've got three kids, ages 12 (dd), 10 (dd), and 6 (ds). My dh and ds spent the night in Dayton earlier this summer. He tries to do something special with him when the girls go to camp. This year, a gal in our church was going on a missions trip from Dayton and needed a ride to the airport. So they took her, visited the Airforce Museum, and then spent the night at a hotel.
Really? Oh my. LOL, I'm not sure what all was going on tonight. I just couldn't get it together with the site. But, all's well that ends well. Here I am! Thanks, Meg
Hey, Jackie Nice to meet you. I have to confess I spelled my name exactly like you do for the first 10 years of life. I guess my mom thought the 4th grade experiment in changing the spelling wouldn't stick
Welcome to Homeschool spot. So, glad to see you found us. Hi my name is Kris I am from the hot state of Texas and been homeschooling my two daughters for 5 years they are 13 and 11 years old. Once again welcome.
I've considered Jacqui when I was in college...I baby sat for a gal that spelled it like that, and I thought it was neat, especially since I enjoyed French! My middle daughter is Faythe. I got that spelling from a student at my school.
Hello and Welcome! It looks like your four kids are about the same age spread as my four. Good luck on the new baby. I look forward to getting to know you.
Thanks Rebecca Yeah the age spread looks really similar, and look! You're alive! How encouraging 16 months apart, then 28 apart, and it'll be another 28 apart again. Not too bad, really. I have friends who really pop em out fast! LOL, nice to meet you. It's late, I'd better turn in before I say something silly... Take care
Welcome, I'm AmyU and I have been married to my hubby for 14 years. We have one son who is 11 and we are working on our 3rd year of homeschooling. Glad you found us. I hope you enjoy being here as much as I do.
Welcome, Jacci! I have 4 kids, too (all between 28 & 34 months apart). They are 10, 8, 5, & 2.5. I also have one in K this year. I hope you enjoy the site!
Welcome, Jacci. I just joined this site recently too. I've gotten some good ideas from the gals, and I think there are a couple guys too, here about alot of things. I've been homeschooling off and on for the past 6 years. I say off and on because for kindergarten and 2nd my dd was in public schools... they really did a number on her though. She now thinks of herself as stupid and doesn't ask questions when she needs help anymore. She's 9 and works on a combo of 3rd/4th grade work. I'm hoping things will get better as she realizes that she's not stupid & that not everyone does good in public schools.
Jacci, mine are 16.5 months, 32.5 months, and 26 months. There is 6 years and 3 months between my youngest and oldest. Yes, so far I have survived but sometimes I wonder how I have.
Hi, Jacci...I am Leslie and I have 2 kids ds-11 and dd-9. Today was our first day of school and we had a great day! This is our 2nd yr of hsing. Welcome to the group!
Thanks, Amy I hope that, too! EDITED to say: Oh wow! I hadn't even read page 2 when I wrote that!!! Wow! Y'all really welcomed me in today Thanks so much!! I really look forward to getting to know all of you better. A friend of mine had a homeschool website that she was managing up until about 8 months ago when her 4th was born. She just didn't have time to maintain the site, be a mother, a wife, and serve the church body. So, it was pretty much a no-brainer which one she should drop! I'll have to tell her about HomeschoolSpot. She was just asking me through another website the other day about whether I had found any good homeschool message boards. She might just pop in! So, I'm glad to have found HomeschoolSpot and really look forward to chatting with you all. You'll find out quickly that I fit right in to a "chatty" bunch, as Jackie put it Y'all take care! Thanks for the welcome!
Hello and welcome! I'm really enjoying the message boards here - when I get time! lol Kick your shoes off and stay a while!
Yes Jacci, I'm glad you made it here also. I pmed you, and it worked fine. My kids are 15-ds, almost 13-ds and 9-dd. This is our 9th year of homeschooling, and I am just soooooo glad I have this opportunity to spend this time with my children! They grow up so fast! I can't believe my baby is 9---she's certainly not a raisin anymore! BTW, her middle name is Joy, and she has always (well, ALMOST always! There have been a couple of moments... ) lived up to that name also! Best wishes on your Raisin (that's cute!) and the other three too! Are you finding out what you will be having? (Obviously I mean the sex of the baby. My dh and 12-yo ds would say, "Well, she's having a baby, what do you think she'd have?!")
