They go in my closet until I wrap them, then they go under the tree. I told my kids that if I saw any present that was tampered with, I'd bring it back to the store. So far, I haven't had any peekers...lol I was an expert at peeking at presents as a kid, so I know what peeled tape looks like.

For large items, I have asked other people to stash them at their house briefly. I've also hid things like bikes in our shed under a tarp.

When kids were young I kept wrapped presents on top of a very high piece of furniture. They were visible, but not reachable.

My lo could climb any height with ease. lol

DH's gift arrived yesterday. It's a HUGE box. The problem is Brookstone sent the item it its original box! So there's a big picture of the item on the front and back of the box. lol  I'm running out of ideas. I can put it in the 'other room' (it's a finished room that's part of our outbuilding), but that's where the dog crates are and sometimes he puts the dogs up at night. I told the boys they HAVE to do it before they go to bed, as I'm usually at work, so daddy doesn't go out there. It's just there in the middle of the room because the box is so big. lol

Good point. I forgot about that. My kids aren't climbers. I can still keep my 4.5 year old in a room with a baby gate.

I have an extra storage closet in my bedroom that the kids KNOW is the gift closet. They don't peek. They don't want to ruin the surprise. My son said he wanted to sometimes, but he didn't because he knew it was just the Devil tempting him and trying to ruin his Christmas. What a good kid!

I had a pretty good size order from CBD today. DH and I stopped at LifeWay because all three kids had a Christian CD on their list (very specific!) and one had Amanda Davis' book. NONE of them were at LifeWay, but they could order them. I decided that, if they needed to be ordered, I'd rather try CBD (usually cheaper, esp. if you can get free handling, which I did!). I had asked DH what he wanted, and he said he needed new Christain t-shirts, so I found one to put on the CBD order. That was a pain, because he was pretty much standing over me while I was doing it! But he had to go to the bathroom (which is FOREVER for him, lol!), so I got it added and paid for before he got back! AND I printed off the order and placed it where he can't find it; the notification comes to MY email, too. Now I just have to be sure to get the box before HE does! When it comes, I'll open the box and pull it out, and probably give it to Phllip to put in his drawer.

I just wrap them and teach them to stay out of them. I have a one and a two year old. Some days are interesting, but they get the point pretty quick.

    Well....

I only spend half my day with them. Then I go to work. And, well, let's just say that my husband isn't as vigilant.

Is there one that is? LOL! When dd14 was 4, I ran to the grocery store as dh was putting the kids to bed. I returned to find her with almost no hair left on one side of her head (I am so NOT exaggerating!!) and covered in make-up. He thought the was in bed...She was in our room on the complete opposite side of the house, and she had to walk right past him to get there.

    WOW!

Ok, if I'm honest, I suppose I can't rule out that something like that would happen on my watch, too. I mean, I have 4 to keep track of, plus 2 dogs who are just as troublesome as the toddler. Plus doing housework and homework and prepping for classes. I have quite enough distractions that I can't just follow my 2yo around all day.

However, I tend to know if someone's out of bed when they aren't supposed to be. Usually.

Oh, stuff does happen on my watch, too! At 3, Dd9 cut her hair (though not nearly as badly) on my watch by sneaking scissors from the table while her siblings and I were doing school. Her room was next door to the school room, and I knew where she was but not what she was up to the entire time. Dh tends to tune out when the TV is on. It's not that he's ignoring them, but he really doesn't realize how engrossed he becomes.
