We have Mandarin friends who make it for us when we visit. I've learned to drink it politely and not hate it. They make it with loose leaves in the bottom of a tall mug, then add the hot water and it all stays there, when you get down to 1/4 cup her MIL fills you up. The first time we visited I unintentionally had 3 mugs. Now I know to just let it sit there if I'm done! lol!
I've never tried any other brands of Rooibos, so I don't know how I would like them. But this kind isn't strong at all. And not being a tea drinker, I'm pretty amazed that I've already finished off more than half the box I bought last week! Most tea in my house ends up being tossed when it expires. There is a Tulsi Raspberry Peach tea I bought at the same time, and it is good too. Not as tasty, but fine every couple of days. It is pretty exciting to have gone from three to four cups of coffee per day, down to one or maybe two by drinking tea----and not gagging on it like before!
I enjoy green tea with honey. I have to admit, I do use a lot of honey tho. Our favorite Japanese restaurant has green tea ice cream that is delicious...
I like almost any tea that is not black tea. I even like some black tea. I like the black tea that comes in the bags that are triangular if I must. Oolong tea is a nice compromise between black and green. I drink alot of custom herbal and green tea mixes at a freinds house. They grow alot of their own leaves and mix and match. They use their own mint and peppermint. Cammamile and mint are a nice mix. I don't buy much tea, but pick up a bag or two at my bank ( they have free tea bags - funny), and like the Earl Grey Green.
