I bought some today to substitue our regular tea that we drink TONS of along with some stevia.. Just for me.. ;) I couldn't wait to get home and drink some and YUCK!!! It tasted like I was drinking boiled GRASS!! Do people actually drink this stuff?? HOW?? is there something special that I should add to it to make it taste better?? I did add sugar and some natural honey along with some lemon and it helped but I still am having a hard time drinking it :/ THIS is why I can't eat healthy stuff.. It all tastes so weird.. I guess maybe it's one of those things that you have to aquire a taste for?? Any suggestions?

I do not like plain green tea. I only like the fruity blends. When I do make it plain, I have to make it really light.

No way.....double bleh! I've even tried different kinds thinking it was the brand. Nope. I've tried so many different kinds of healthy teas and most of them make me gag. There's only a couple that I've been able to tolerate. One of them is dandelion root tea, which tastes a lot like coffee. It is caffeine free and good for your liver.

Green tea extract capsules are the only form I'll take of the grass versions..... ;)

Gah, I tried green tea once on a recommendation from a friend. So not happening! This person assured me I would love it. Um, sorry but that stuff is just nasty. Nope, I'll stick with my plain old tea with regular old sugar, thank you very much. There are a lot of things I'll give up in the name of better health, but my tea isn't going anywhere.

I do like it. I sweeten with honey and add a bit of lemon juice.

I'll give it another shot.. Maybe make it weaker.. But ONE MORE TIME and that's IT!!! I tried to drink it and I almost threw up.. BLAH!!! My husband likes it, so I guess he can drink it so it doesn't go to waste.. ;) I REALLY wanted to love it.. Maybe the stevia made it taste worse because I put a ton of that stuff in there too.. Like 10 drops for a 16 oz glass.. THEN I added honey and lemon and that did help, but still had a bad taste.. Maybe no stevia and just honey and lemon.. If all else fails I can just drink regular tea with no sugar or with stevia..

I have tried green tea twice, several years apart, both times after reading about the health benefits. Bleh. I just really really really prefer my regular old Lipton tea. Both times I ended up throwing out the box of green tea.

I LOVE LOVE GREEN TEA. Then again I am currently in Japan and it's the all over here. I love hot green tea with milk. I love green tea ice cream.
Now I did have some when I first got here and it was freshly brewed with nothing added and yuck. I have to add a bit of sweetner. I add a bit of sweetner to my other teas too.

    Green tea ice cream?

I have to try this some time! I haven't seen it around here, but I bet I can get my hands on some in the Los Angeles area.

Love Green Tea! Love it! Hot, cold -- doesn't matter. But, never sweet, YUCK! I don't like sweetened tea, no matter the tea type nor the version of sweet (honey, sugar, stevia, etc).

Having a good quality brand makes a world of difference, too.

haha! Funny enough, as I was typing my post (I actually hadn't seen yours, yet), I was thinking -- "Yep, this figures; here comes me, the odd duck once again!" ;) I always seem to be the "different" one, wherever I am.

If anyone is looking for an alternative to green tea, I just started drinking Rooibos tea and it is amazing! It tastes somewhat like that sweetened, bottled tea--a little bit like tea and a little bit not! It is really healthy, just look up some of the health benefits online.

I'm drinking Better off Red, Now brand: Rooibos with a vanilla citrus blush.

I don't mind Rooibos tea, but some brands have the flavor too strong for me. My latest find is Bigelow's decaffeinated green tea with added blueberry and acai. It's quite pleasant.
