can't be any crazier than the neighbors we've had in the past..... we had people across the street crawling in and out of the bedroom (front side) all the time.. we figured they were avoiding the front door for some reason and besides all the drug houses around (not sure exactly which ones) the girl next door was being harbored in a pet infested house with at least 30-60 pets and the stuff that goes with that!......... now there are no kids around that I'd let my kids play with.:(

Silly String....my older ones would LOVE that. I think I'll pick some up! I've done books in the past for my older ones, too.

When my kids were younger I always put candy, a coloring book with crayons/color pencils, a small toy, and a toothbrush in their baskets. As they got older I put a DVD and a book instead of a coloring book and toy. I still put in toothbrushes and I also have been doing bath poufs. DS is getting an electric razor this year (1st one).....yikes! This is DD first Easter w/out braces in a few years so she will get to have candy that she couldn't eat for awhile.

Ok... thanks to Swagbucks, and the 10500 swagbucks I got for shopping at Walmart.com by going through their link to it to buy my TV that I was going to buy at walmart.com anyway, I just got Rise of the Gaurdians 3D, Tangled 3D, Cars 2 3D, Titanic 3D, and Tin Tin 3D for $18, the first 3 will be going into the kids Easter Baskets, Garrett is getting an XBox 360 game in his. We are also going to hit the used game store and see what DS games they have cheap. Then there will be some candy and a new tooth brush for each.

I tried to keep it simple this year. They'll each get an outfit, a book, a chocolate cross, a few other bits of candy but not a lot, and the three younger ones will get those crayola kits where the markers ONLY color on the special paper. I'm planning to get my older son something artsy too but I haven't yet. And that will be it for their baskets this year.

We'll do an egg hunt and Easter celebration with my sister and her four kids the Wed after Easter. We keep that simple too, we hide about 10 eggs for each kid. My mom used to hide 200 eggs just for us three girls. Ridiculous.

We have never done easter baskets.. Easter was always a simple egg hunt and dinner with family growing up so we have stuck with that tradition.. BUT this year, since the kids are getting older, we are going to have a glow in the dark egg hunt and I will have a small easter "prize" for them at the end with their favorite candy and a small toy for the younger ones and movie tickets/fastfood certificates for the older kiddos.... The boys are really excited about the egg hunt.. Funny cuz they have REFUSED to hunt eggs for the past several years.. It's too "babyish".. But make it "glow in the dark" and it's a COOL thing... LOL!!!!

Phillip was skyping with Rachael Sunday. I came in to say hi, and she smiles really sweetly at me and says, "And...and...and you ARE still giving me an Easter Basket, right? With Starburst jelly beans, and chocolate eggs....?" My big, grown college student is still a little girl :D!

We do an egg hunt in the living room every year and then there is a basket and a gift on the dinning room table. The basket has a couple of small things plus a chocolate bunny. We do not do much candy in the basket, just a couple of things. Her "big" gift is a couple of Skylander Giants figures. She is such a pre-teen now.

nothing hurt my feelings more when I lived with my aunt in my teen years and she would do something for her kids (a bit older than me) like a crockpot or something and a bit of candy in the overturned lid...... and my mom didn't do anything for me....:(

I love the idea of the glow in the dark hunt! Did you find eggs that already glow? My boys would LOVE that.

at craft stores you can buy the tubes of 15 glow in the dark bracelets for $1.. if you put that inside the egg you can also put a piece of candy or stickers or something, activate the bracelets as you assemble them. I think www.orientaltrading.com sells them too

This year since they have been showing an interest in baseball we got them baseball mitts that we will fill with candy & a book for both of them. Never done it like this before but should be a crowd pleaser in this house.

We do an egg hunt and each kid gets a basket with a chocolate cross, some candy and some small things like dollar store goodies or nail polish ect.

My problem this year is the baskets. We NEVER use the traditional Easter baskets because they are ugly and just take up space and my kids never want to get rid of them. Previous years I have used sand pails, little kid sized beach chairs, upside down hats ect. I have no idea what my containers are this year yet. I have to shop today so I really need to figure it out though!

Can you use regular baskets, ones that can be reused during the year? I use them to put all kinds of stuff in...most notably my sewing stuff. And we've one very large basket next to "my" chair to hold books. That chair is where I usually sit while reading to the kids....
