I'm excited actually!! Alexis looked at me this morning and said "Mom - these workbooks aren't as exciting at the stuff I was listening to before, I don't REMEMBER any of the stuff I am reading! Can I go back to listening, coloring and things like that?"

So - she's going to stick with the Phonics, Vocab, Handwriting & Spelling workbooks because those are all ok. Oh and the CLE Math workbooks came in.

The rest will be Ambleside Online - a lot of it audiobooks because she likes those. We are back with year 4 picking it up on Term 2 - except she wants to do Minn of the Mississippi stuff (I do to so that's fine).... and we are going to go back and actually finish Pagoo.

So today I spent downloading and loading up her iPod with audiobooks and the composer study stuff. She spent 1/2 the day looking up the artist of the term and telling me all about him.

It was nice to have a day where she was excited to DO extra work....

OH!!!!! Before I told you guys I had English from the Roots Up and loaned it out and never got it back - well someone on currclick has a "workbook" set up for both volumes for only $8!! So I downloaded that for her yesterday to start working on - each page has a place for the definition of the root (greek or latin), a place to draw a picture of what it is (something SHE can remember it by) and a place to write other works down with their meanings based on the root. Very cool and I am thrilled not to have to spend another $25!!

I subscribe to them through librivox.org (there is a link for each thing and then it will download it into the "podcast" section on itunes)

My favorite part is most of the books are broken down into each chapter so I can say "Listen to 1 & 2" then you are done.

Glad to know that about English from the Roots Up. We're finishing vol. 1 now. I was getting ready to order vol. 2.
    Thanks.

Glad I'm not the only one eternally changing directions!
