They're a handful, aren't they? LOL. Just be persistent, keep working on house rules, polite leash walking....it'll get better. Sounds like the pets have already sorted out a pecking order Crates help a lot for when you're not home, sleeping, etc. Make sure there are TONS of chew toys that are appropriate and start reinforcing what is ok to chew. One year old is a VERY chewy age for dogs! (don't use old shoes...because they're easily confused with new shoes....don't use stuffed animal type toys if there are stuffed animals in the house that are NOT to be chewed, too easy to confuse!) Pay special attention to your furniture, particularly if you have wood dowels on the bottoms of chairs or tables....they're a serious temptation until appropriate chew toys are established. LOL...sounds like quite a project Good luck!
And they are expensive. Our 1-year-old puppy, whom we got a while back from the pound, recently found a tiny hole in the kitchen floor. My wife came into the room the other day to find that he'd worked on that hole and managed to tear a 6-foot long strip out of it. Mind you, my wife's been wanting a new kitchen floor for some time, so secretly she's quite pleased.
