Wow. I guess the schools want to outsource discipline to the police department now. How about making her clean it off the desk? A little rubbing alcohol or Goo-Be-Gone would have done wonders and wouldn't have cost tax payers a little bundle in police and court costs. In fact, they could have SAVED money by assigning her to clean all the desks in her classroom or grade.

Wow. That is by far one of the stupidest things I have ever read about. What ever happened to common sense? I am so glad to be able to homeschool my children.

I don't understand what the logic behind arresting her for writing on a desk is... Makes 0 sense to me.... That poor girl. How humiliating. I guess bullies never outgrow their need to have power over others..

What stunned me is there were people commenting on the story who thought it was appropriate! There is a strong anti-child sentiment out there. I think too many people view children as an obstacle to their goals and to their personal comfort instead of a joy to be treasured and trained. The school obviously doesn't want to train, because punishing is easier.
