http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/h...3-given-contraceptive-implants-at-school.html I can't believe there isn't a HUGE backlash from parents on this. I'd be furious beyond belief if someone took my 13 year old daughter and put a contraceptive implant into her arm without consulting me or her primary physician first. Why can't schools just do what they were designed to do to begin with? Teach reading, writing, arithmetic. Parents need to stop abdicating to this overreach.
Oh my gosh! I would be so angry! This is worse than handing out condoms, that's a few steps too far. Not cool! ~Jeri
Wow, that is ridiculous. They are looking for a law suit. There are a variety of shots/ implants but the one I took as a young woman was soon found out to cause bone loss. There was a different one my niece took that caused depression. I'm not a big fan of hormonal birth controls now, not saying people shouldn't have that option but they ought to have all the medical records and health history for a lot of that stuff and they should be given by their own physician with their parents. They may have had the teens fill out a health history but I have my doubts most teens know that much about their health history. Sorry but a condemn is way safer to hand out then implants if they are going to go that route. That is just crazy.
