Wish me luck! Today is our 1st day of homeschool. so far, so good! everything going as scheduled! amy, georgia
Good luck today, and enjoy yourself! And don't forget that it's OK if everything doesn't go the way you might have imagined. Nobody's school day goes perfectly!
question...and thanks guys ya'll are so very supportive and I appreciate it so much!!! one thing is going on with Abby, guess it's from being in "regular school" She is so worried about the "rules" when she is doing a project/worksheet. She keeps saying what color should I color that or "that's not how mrs. hunter made me write my k's", etc....is this normal. Is public school really that rigid??? wow, i am very shocked. She has perfect/beautiful handwriting for a kindergartener, so i am a little upset that it's such a big deal to her....HELP ME
Yes, PS can be that rigid. Some zap the fun and creativity out of kids but others don't (as much). Once she settles in and realizes that Mommy will let her be as creative as the project requires/allows....she'll calm down a bit. It takes a while to "de-school" a bit from the rigidness....unless you plan to be very school-at-home-ish....it'll take a bit
oh no, I want her to be WHO SHE IS!!!!! the rigidness freaked me out, but i hope/pray I can handle it and downplay it.....she did awesome at gymnastics and was much less tired than in the past grade for day one of HS....B+..i am happy
