This whole thread is making me laugh. I would call a conservation office and ask them what to do.

I would have called the conservation office if dh hadn't already laid "Snoopy" to rest. I got told after the fact. Somehow it seems disrespectful to dig him/her up again!

Is it a Black Vulture or a Turkey Vulture? If it is a Black Vulture, be careful they can be pretty feisty. Is there something dead nearby? We had a dead dear at the end of our driveway one morning and woke up to having 22 vultures on the roof. They picked it clean by the end of the day. Ewwwww! And what a mess they made on our roof. Yuck!

Honestly, if there isn't a carcass nearby, and I'm guessing there isn't, or you would have more of them, then he has probably just discovered that he likes what you are feeding the cats. Can you feed the cats inside somewhere? Barn? Shed?

It was a turkey buzzard. It came about a week ago and just hung around without causing a disturbance of any sort. It came by itself and sort of made itself at home. The buzzard is what died. We nicknamed it "Snoopy". I think it came around to find a quiet place to die. :(
