Ever since we have potty trained, I've noticed my 3 year old paying more attention to his body parts. Lately, he asked me if it was "ok to play with that" pointing to his boy parts. (the reason for his question, is because dad and I have been teaching him that NOBODY can touch his privates except for him, and mommy when she helps clean him during a bath.) This morning, he was watching "Super Why", laying on the floor on his belly "moving around". I tried distracting him, and said "hey, why don't we try to use the bathroom now". He stopped and I quicky jumped on here to ask you?!!? HELP!!! What do I do? Nothing? Something? I wasn't prepared or this.
I answered you over more fully in the Christian Issues section. But I wanted to second Actressdancer's "TOTALLY NORMAL!". And not just with boys, either... Just tell him to keep it to himself. This is not something he should be doing where other people can see. It's private. You'll have to remind him lots, though - especially when exciting shows are on TV!
Yup normal. I make a point of saying if you want to it needs to be in private. And its not ok to do it in front of others.
