    My mission statement reads:

WHY I WANT A CLEAN HOME

    1. So that I can feel more comfortable inviting others over (hospitality).
    2. So my husband "sees" the work we do each day.
    3. So my children see and learn the basics of home care.
    4. So I fulfil part of my goal of being a Keeper at Home.
    5. So I feel more organized and less overwhelmed by stuff.

I printed it and posted it under my shelf of my computer desk...mainly just I will see it - not my MIL when she visits (so that she can laugh at the very thought of me acomplishing that! LOL! ) :)

Gardenturtle, yes I mix the Tea Tree with water. I use a cheap plant mister bottle from the dollar store, it holds about a quart. I fill the bottle with water and add 3 drops of tea tree oil, I also sometimes add lemon oil just to make it smell better to those who don't like the smell of tea tree. If you add lemon add the same number of lemon as you add tea tree.

I just finished the mission statement and I am working on my list. My mission statement is that I want a clean house so that we can invite friends over without always apologizing for the mess! I also want to do some remodeling, but I can't until the clutter is gone.

Off to finish my list now. A new vacuum tops the list since DH broke ours trying to use it for something he shouldn't have!!

Thanks Birbitt! I have one of those plant misters already! Great!
So this can be used on glass and doesn't look smeary?

I use it on glass, computer screens, tv screens, tables, counters, windows, mirrors, floors...pretty much anything I can clean with a sponge or cloth and a spray bottle! If I need extra scrubbing power I use the scrubbie side of a sponge, or I use baking soda or salt as an abrasive. :)

That is perfect and I would love to steal it, lol :) I think mine would read something like "I am tired of looking at this stuff, it's time to organize it or throw it all away!" I just joined this group today and this looks like a concept I would like to incorparate in my cleaning. Thank you to the person who started this :)

Rebecca, that is pretty close to my thoughts. I have tried to make a stop at the donation center every week. I have had the sad realization that my house is tiny and I have to much stuff to live in it comfortably. So either the stuff has to go or one of the kids. ; ) Depending on how the kids are acting it is toss up some days.

I never follow any of these. I use to be on fly lady and she gave me more stress then I need. I just do what I feel like doing a day. I try and pick a room or two a day and do and keep the others picked up.

When the girls were little we had boxes for everything. Yes, they dragged everything all over which was fine with me. Kids have to be kids and learn too. But, end of day everything find there home.

I am joining in late, simply because I wanted to wait until I could give this project the attention it deserves, so today I did day one. I cleaned my fridge, and freezer (which was a chore since it was full thanks to a 2.00 frozen food sale). My way of giving life to our home was to finally clear out the pile of "fix em ups", you know the never ending pile of laundry to mend, stuffies to patch, and shirts to alter that always seem to be pushed aside because there's never enough time. So today I pulled out the sewing machine and put that hem in hubbys shirt that was torn on the long sleeve, so it is now a short sleeve, fixed those many pants with tears on the seams, replaced three buttons on hubbys shirts and five on the boys shirts, and fixed tears in 3 stuffies. Now those items have "new life" and are back where they belong.

It is a huge relief, it was a really big pile. Sad thing of it all was that it was only about an hours worth of work, so if I'd been doing it all along it would have been 5-10 minutes each time, except I hate to drag out the machine for just 5 min of work.

The fridge took me longer than the sewing LOL!

I was glad that I waited to begin the task because I know last week this would not have gotten done!

Way to go with the sewing! I have given up on mending clothes. For me it is just to much, I don't have time. It was a hard thing for me to do. I had to throw away/donate a huge box of pants my dh had torn. Because I wasn't going to get around to patching them. But it was nice to be done, and not have that box of things to do hanging over my head.
