I am SO sorry that I posted this so late today. DH had the iPad (with my Kindle app) at work and I forgot I could pull it up on my PC.
Today, the Martha challenge is actually MUCH simpler than the Mary challenge. lol. With that in mind, if you all would like an extra day before I post the next day's mission, let me know. I certainly won't be able to do this tonight.

Today's lesson is about making your home a place to "put your feet up." Meaning, it should be clean enough to not be stressful, but not so sterile that it's uncomfortable.

    Mary Challenge:
Invite over a friend and allow them to "put their feet up." Don't worry about making everything just right, instead, enjoy their company.

    Martha Challenge:
Kitchen - Clean your oven and microwave. Try putting slices of lemon in a bowl of water and microwaving for 2-3 minutes; the steam will loosen up the food particles. Don't forget to wash the exteriors!

I got half of day 3 finished today...and rearranged my kitchen in the process! Hopefully, I can attack the other half tomorrow and then follow with the 4th day. I agree, the Mary part is harder. I don't know why it's so difficult to invite someone over. It's not like my house is terrible, just not as good as I want it. Can I count that I'm going TO someone's house tomorrow! LOL! I always feel very "feet up" there and it's not perfect, just comfy.

Thanks again, Actressdancer for these. I'm really enjoying them and may download the e-book sometime soon.

my dh and and I have gotten so much better about this.

We've gotten to inviting families over after sunday night church. The thing is after a long after noon of rest, the house isn't exactly pristine. But to be honest. Nobody cares. We take a quick swipe through the bathroom to make sure nothing really gross is lurking there, and ignore the dirty floors and messy rooms.

We have a fabulous time after church just enjoying the company of other families. Thing is now that we've started that, I've been invited to some other homes and the wife is comfortable with my seeing her mess too. I don't care in the least. I am glad they consider me close enough friends to let their hair down with.

MY OVEN IS CLEAN!!! (But that's because ours broke down and we had to buy a new one not that long ago, and it hasn't had a chance to get dirty yet!)

I did the first part on accident already today. My husband invited the construction guys to eat with us. I said Oh ok. They weren't friends but still they were not family hanging out in my mess.

I might clean the outside of my oven, but it is too hot to turn it on. I will clean the inside in the fall when I use it again. ; ) I use my bbq pit for all cooking during the summer.

I still need to clean my shelves so I think that is what I am going to do now.

oven has been cleaned (self cleaning oven, so the house now smells smoky) next I need to wipe it out and do the microwave.

I was talking with some ladies at church who were saying it's refreshing to go to someone's house and see that it's not perfect. We feel like we are normal, when we see someone else being normal! We all decided that when inviting friends over it's best not to try to over clean. None of us expects a perfect house when you have little ones. It's not a real-estate showing! We're friends!
