Alright, so Patryk has been approved to visit Shriner's Hospital! We are very excited, and it's a trip that we hope will be fruitful and they can lessen his pain. However, we're running into issues...I just need to vent really... So, we had originally scheduled his appointment for November 21st. Gary took the 20th and the 21st off because it's in St. Louis and a whole days drive. They call us two weeks ago and say that the doctor decided he was going to take Thanksgiving Vaca around that time so he had to reschedule. Ok...I would think you would get that sorted out sooner, but...whatever. We rescheduled to Dec. 5th, Gary rescinded his days off for the new ones (Dec. 4th, 5th, and 6th because my Dad has Catering he needed to do and needed Gary's help with). TODAY, I get a card in the mail from them and it says, "Thank you for rescheduling for 12/19/12! WHAT?! So I called and they didn't offer any explaination as to why. Just that they had rescheduled it! I don't want to seem like a baby, but I teared up!!! This means that Gary is going to have to cancel those days again, TRY and get new ones so close to the holiday season when other Officers have already requested it off (as early as May no less). He is NOT going to be happy when he comes home and I have to tell him. I don't even want to be within a 10 mile radius because he is going to explode! On top of all of this, NOW we have to explain it to Paddy again. He can act like a super normal kid and has a fantastic vocab, but you don't. Mess. With. His. Schedule. I've written down what's going on for each reschedule. I have had to go over it and over it every single day! NOW what?! I don't want to tell Patryk either. I'm putting it off because I know it's going to be a kicking screaming fit. I know that God has a plan, and maybe a child who needs it more than Patryk had to get in (I hope it's that because if it's another doctor wanting a vacation I might just spazz). I don't want to be selfish, but goodness gracious! I'm so frustrated!! My Mom and Dad have even requested off, and now they have to change their schedule!! Dad is a LT. and Gary is a regular CO at the prison, and Mum is an RN, hard jobs to get new days off at. ARGH!!!! Sorry I just had to vent......
Id be venting too! I mean once, fine. But wow...you'd think they'd understand how upsetting this would be to an autistic child & that people need time to request days off...
I hope this is all so your son can see the best Dr. they have. A Dr. who will know just what to do on the first try. Stay strong.
you know they say there is reason for everything. I hope that is the reason they keep canceling so you son does see the best doctor they have.
