OMG.. there are 6 huge dogs running all around my yard!! There is a crew installing a heat pump in the neighbor's yard and they are freaking out! These dogs come from way down the street. They were doing the same thing about a week ago, dh and I went to the owner's house and no one was home. I don't know what to do this time. I might end up calling animal control.
Dh came home to chase them off.. he is mad!! He is going to call AC. Apparently, two of them were growling. When he went out there, one of the dogs bit one of the other ones and it yelped very loudly. The people aren't home, again! I totally agree, Sommer! I don't understand people having animals if they aren't going to take care of them. When we went to their house looking for them last time, there was a mama dog who was nursing several puppies. I don't know how many dogs these people need!
Definitely call animal control. If they growled at your DH there's no telling what they might do to a neighborhood child. And the owners need to understand that their behavior is unacceptable.
Don't hesitate and call! If you for nothing else to have it on record. The more you have to call on these dogs the stiffer the punishment for the owners. We had a dog always loose in our neighborhood. The owners would have lost the dog if he got out one more time....well if someone complained one more time. Thankfully they moved. Not for this reason...lol.
Dogs get out. It happens sometimes. BUT if the dogs are threatening, that's the reason why Animal Control is there!!! My dogs aren't threatening, but if one of them got out and started to behave in a threatening manner, I'd much rather have a neighbor call AC than to have it bite a child!!! Also, even if a non-threatening animal gets out repeatedly, something needs to be done.
My dog roams free when she is out. She rarely leaves our yard, if she does she only goes to see "Jackie", hubby's uncle's dog. She too has free roam. But then we live in the country, my yard alone is over 3 acres, and 95% of the people around us are family and know our dog. Beana is more of a couch cushion than a dog anyway.. so her time outside is more than limited
Dh called them.. I don't know what went on, though, because the dogs continued roaming the neighborhood. I hope that something will be done. We wouldn't have called if they weren't growling. Dh asked last time if I thought we should call, and I said no, because I wouldn't want AC to take someone's dogs away or something if they just got out when someone wasn't home. Last time, none of them were acting aggressively while we were out there. I still hope they are ok, and not getting hurt or something, but it is scary!
