A Happy World

    How about a new story, girls? It can get as silly as you want. When you have time check out the 'to be continued' thread at atoz, in the teacher time out forum to see how their story is coming along.

    A Happy World

    Once there was a pleasant place where homeschooling was the norm. The moms all had domestic help so they could attend to their children's studies without care. Fathers helped willingly, without being asked. Books and materials were free and easily obtained. All was well in this lovely, quiet place.

    The real jewels were the children. They were well mannered, kind and friendly. They obeyed quickly and willingly. The homeschooling families were proud of their dedicated, fine children.

    One sunny afternoon two such children were playing in their yard, taking turns and sharing.
    They looked at the somber brick building across the street where the other children in town were penned up all day.
    'Johnny', said Susie, 'that building looks scary. What is it?........'

    "I think it might be jail", says Susie. "Remember the book mom read to us the other day?"

    Johnny and Susie decided to go ask their mom.

    "Mom?" They both said at the same time. "What's the building across the street?"

    Their mother says, "Well, Johnny and Susie come sit over here and I will tell you a story." "Once upon a time, a very long long time ago...

    "Mommy--that story sounds awful." the children chimed in together.
    "I know" said their mother, "it is very difficult to understand. Well, one day...
