Hi! Just wanted to make a quick intro thread. I am a happily married mom. I have been married for almost 14 years to a wonderful Christian man. We have 2 children- DS is 13 and in 8th Grade and DD is 7 in 2nd grade. We are expecting number 3 in March ! I work part time(1 maybe 2 days a week) as a Registered Nurse in our local ER. I started Homeschooling about 2 years ago, when my son went into 6th grade in our local PS and everything went down hill. Since we started homeschooling he has blossomed(can you say that for a boy, lol) He was labeled as a slow learner and the principle wanted him in special ed classes in the PS, but now he is doing algebra and biology, is reading at his grade level(finally!) and is excelling in language arts and history. He really loves it! And there is so much less stress with school work now. My DD I just started HS this year and I wish I had started sooner. She is so eager to learn. And SHE makes the learning fun!! I just want to add that I am so happy I stumbled across this site!!
sure glad you found us.. jump in and have fun right along with us. welcome..I live in the deep south too.
Welcome from Jackie, in central Ohio! My kids are dd13, dd11, and ds 7. We're starting our ninth year of formal hs'ing.
Welcome from Wisconsin! I am glad to read about your children and what you are giving to them in the way of education and thus in their lives! ((((hugs))))
Welcome! Welcome! So glad to hear that your children are doing well! Isn't it amazing how homeschooling can unlock the potential in our children?
Me, too, y'all. ( I am near Birmingham.) And, I am also in my first year. One day last week a relative asked my 6th grader how it was going. He said, "It's not horrible." I just want you all to know I am claiming that as a victory! Miller:roll:
