So this may be an odd question to ask, but I really need help with this one. My husband and I have one little girl who is 5 years old and we have been discussing having another baby for about 4 months now.
My biggest worry about having another baby is money, we are doing great right now, but I fear adding more to our household will be a drain on our finances.
My husbands biggest worry about having another baby is that with our first child I suffered from horrible post partum depression, and he worries that this will happen again.
Now my husband has no worries about money, and keeps telling me that we can afford another child. I tell my husband that we both know more about post partum depression, and that if this does happen again, we will both be able to handle it better.
I guess what my question is, is how do we decide to have another baby? Should it be this hard to decide to have another child?
As you can see I am completely lost!! Any advice or tips or anything will be greatly apperciated.

You may be asking the wrong demographic LOL! Most homeschoolers don't "decide" to have babies, they just do it because we love kids! As to PPD, I took anti-depressents after the birth of all of my kids. It was effective, and I enjoyed my children so much more when I was on them.
Financially, babies just arent that expensive! Seriously. Do you still have baby stuff from your first? Know anybody with a crib they're not using? There is a wonderful blog post about the actual cost of a baby, I can't remember where I found it, but I'm sure someone on here knows what I'm talking about and can post a link.
I'm really not sure how to answer your question about how to decide. It's not a dilemma I'm familiar with. I've never had to wonder whether I wanted a baby or not.

if you are wondering about the age timing at all you re choosing a very good age, you will be able to spend time with both baby and "big sib" as well.
As far as the money part, today it is a lot cheaper than when I ahd mine lol. depending if you have insurance that covers the birthing process that is. My kids actually cost me 5 , 5 and ten dollars, lol. Insurance covered it so we maid more but over time kwim?

for the after time when you are in PPD, if that is for certain ( I had it with my last child only) then be prepared ahead of time as Leissa said. do what works best for you.

and re garding the what homeschool moms do, I agree its vcause we love them we keep having more lol!

At this point I am wanting to adopt a small child so I dont have to stop schooling hahah!

Thanks for the advice. I think its a sign that we wanted to have another baby, because I still have ALL of my daughters baby things, from the crib to toys and clothes. :) I will definatly let my Dr. know about my past PPD and I will stay on top of it this time around.
Thanks for answering my very odd question :)

ok, I found the blog I was talking about, but I have no clue how to post links, so I'll just tell you about it! It's called Smockity Frocks, and this woman has a large family, and she posted on Dec 6 about the feasibility of having a child on a shoestring budget.
Keep us updated. I love to get news of brand new little ones!

Thanks for the info on the Smockity Frocks blog :) I spent at least 2 hours reading through her posts, and I really like what she has to say, I bookmarked her sight so that I can keep going back. Her post on affording a second child put my money issues to rest, there is almost nothing that we will need to buy for possible two years. I kept everything from my first child, plus the majority of my family members are having kids, and their stuff gets passed around like crazy!! lol I think there is really no need for us to worry anymore, and hopefully soon I will post about baby #2 on the way :)
