My brother and SIL are in China right now picking up their little girl!!! Our family is bursting with excitment. They left July 9th and will return July 23rd. It will be an approx. 15 hour flight home. Plus they left their two dd's with my parents. We all feel blessed to have this new addition to our family and praise God that it has all come together. Please pray for a smooth transition for sweet, little Michelle. She is 14 months old. Pray for my brother and his family as they all make new adjustments and that they get home safely. Thanks,
Thanks for your prayers. They fly home tomorrow - it is a 13 hour flight - yikes!! Our family is bursting at the seams to meet their little girl!!
name Did they rename her Michelle or is that her Chinese name? The people I know who adopted from China have a kid with a name too hard to say. LOL
Lorna~ In case Crystal doesn't see this and reply, I will tell you that they re-named her Michelle. My Gracie is adopted from Vietnam and she had/has a Vietnamese name, which we changed to Gracie and kept her same middle name- it's Mai (they originally told us that it was pronounced like "may", but the true pronunciation in Vietnam is "my"). I'm sure Crystal and her family are having lots of fun with little Michelle. I've seen pictures and she looks like such a sweet little thing!
We have two Korean ladies in our family. One is my aunt and the other my sister-in-law. Their names are so hard to pronounce that they use their maiden names Kim and Yang as first names  !
Heidi It is hard to see all the folks in your picture well. I can't tell which one is Gracie. That is so neat. I figured they renamed her Michelle. Just made me curious about it all. What was your daughter's first name?
Lorna~ Gracie is the little one in the stroller. If you'd like, I can e-mail you privately with a picture! She's 5, but she's still pretty tiny and doesn't do too much walking (in a big place like Walt Disney World!) Her Vietnamese name is Nguyen, Mai Phuong. They write their names Last, Middle, First. Phuong is pronounced FWOONG (that's about as close as I can think to spell it) Mai means "tomorrow" and Phuong means "direction". Nguyen is a very common Vietnamese surname- much like Smith or Jones here in the U.S.
We visited with Michelle yesterday. Oh she is sooooo sweet!! I just love her!!! My SIL's middle name is Michelle and my brother's middle name is Lee. Her Chinese name is Ting. So here is her full name - MIchelle Leigh-Ting Brown. She is almost 15 months old. She is walking and has a couple teeth. She says mama and dada. Thank you all for your prayers for them and thank you Heidi!
