Peyton Manning #18 is a gang number

So schools in Colorado don't allow kids to wear the Denver Bronco's starting QB number to school.......

And it is IMHO that this is why schools are failing.

Gangs adopt colors, numbers, logos, etc., as a code for their gang, so wearing that color, number, or logo identifies you with that gang. They even "code" themselves at school with the color of shoelaces they wear, if they're not allowed their usual get-up, bandanas, sweatbands on head or wrists, or whatever.

It's a big reason for the whole school uniform trend, to keep gang identification out of the school. "Wearing your colors" is an invitation to fight.

Gangs are not a big problem here, but in some places, it's huge.

Wow. That is crazy. I LOVE Peyton and would never imagine it to be a gang symbol but wearing a green and blue striped shirt could be adopted as a gang color as well. It is just ridiculous.

You know, this may not be the most expected opinion for someone who's so usually opposed to uniformity, but I think public schools should all adopt a uniform policy. No more silly dress code rules that are open to interpretation, no more expensive school-clothes shopping, no more bully-based-on-brands, no more "what do I wear?!" drama, etc, etc. If you're going to assembly line the "education," you may as well have every product in the same packaging.

Indeed! Once upon a time I was against dress codes. As I age, I am changing my opinions. Southern California, as well as other areas I am sure, are infested with gang activity. These gangs also invade our Jr and high schools.
