Tanner is a typical boy. Along with being a typical boy, he thinks potty words of all kinds are super funny. Boys. Anyways, we are trying to get him to understand that it's important to think before you speak or take action and repeating potty words over and over are not ok. He's pretty impulsive. So, here is my solution. We are setting up a "swear jar" of sorts. However, we'll call it something appropriate for his age, like a "naughty jar", or "potty mouth jar". Everytime he says or does something highly inappropriate, he will have to pay in a dime or quarter into the jar. At the end of each week, he will be donating the money to church during the offeratory. I hope it helps.
Jen that is a cool idea, I think that is so neat. I don't think it has to do with just boys I have seen and heard alot of young little girls use that kind of talk. Keep up the good work Mom, let us know how it works out.
Jennie, though our children are mostly grown, I still enjoy reading about your creative ways of dealing with your children! Keep up the good work, and keep sharing!
